Senate Dems deliver stunning warning to Supreme Court: ‘Heal’ or face restructuring

Democrats threatening the supreme court for any reason is evil . The only reason they want this is stack the deck in their favor.
That combined with removing the electoral college means a permanent democratic presidency and permanent democratic supreme court.

It's a flat our power grab.
A middle finger to the American people.
This is how America would die.

If it happens it fully justifies armed revolt.

 

Actually, they did not change the rules. There was precedence. Millard Fillmore, in his last year in office (1852), nominated Edward Bradley to the SCOTUS . The Democrats would not hold a conformation hearing, counting on Franklin Pierce becoming President....and he did. Pierce nominated John Campbell. The same thing happen 3 other times between 1844-1866 to Presidential nominees, though they were not SCOTUS nominees.

So, you think fair is fair? Will you still think the same when the Republicans retaliate over the Democrat's retaliation? Surely you can't claim that the Democrats never did anything to cause the Garland nomination to be a retaliation for things the Democrats did. The Democrat's actions on the Kavagaugh hearings were certain underhanded....as was the whole "Russian collusion" thing and what the Democrats are still trying to do over Trump's taxes. Isn't that your "retaliation"? Or was that just politics that does not warrant any retaliation?

Point is, both side are very guilty of political maneuvering. Heck Kennedy's team turning the thermostat up during his debate with Nixon to make it look like he was sweating while Kennedy had special make-up applied to absorb his sweat and make him look calm and cool. The practice of political maneuvering has been around just about as long as prostitution. If you think retaliation would be fair, then it must also be far when the Republicans retaliate back.....and then when the Democrats retaliate back again....in other words, politics as usual.

Stealing "seats" is nothing new. Adams rushed appointments of Judges through on his last day in office. It led to the SC case of Marbury vs. Madison.

Congress is on recess and the story only mentioned several democrats not all of the senate democrats.

 

They call themselves progressives for a reason, they are progressing their politics.
One whacko says the end goal, ie: abolish the 2nd ammendment. Then all the rest back off to background checks. They get their bsckground checks but thats not enough.
So the next year they push for a ban on a such and such. Then thats not enough so the next year they finally get to a repeal of the 2nd ammendment. All along this process they call what they are doing common sense and ridiculing people who won't compromise with them..

It's all a lie, they are out for all the guns. Give them an inch they take a mile. Just like they did with medical marijuana. Now they want all drugs legalized.

Nope, Harry Reid was the first to use the Nuclear Option, on November 21, 2013, when under his direction the bare majority of Democrats in the Senate removed the ability to filibuster for judicial nominees below the U.S. Supreme Court level.

That allowed Obama to stuff the federal courts full of nominees and to alter the balance on some of the crucial federal courts of appeal. By the time the Republicans retook the Senate, the horses had left the barn.

It's not unconstitutional to add more justices. It will however effectively result in the party in power conttolling SCOTUS. The court will be packed each change of government until it's hundreds.

That is why 2020 needs to be a "Wave Election" (where Dems take the Senate and Presidency and emerge holding all 3 branches).
