This is an honest question for those of you who would characterize your feelings for President Trump as "hatred" or "near hatred". I won't question whether such feelings are justified or not. We could argue that indefinitely. Question: When did you begin hating President Trump? Strictly in my opinion, it seems that much of the hatred of him did not manifest itself until he actually won the 2016 election. There were mainly feelings of disgust and derision after he was nominated and largely contempt before he was nominated.
Surprise no actual replies. Are the Trump haters afraid to openly admit that they didn't care one way or the other about Trump until he beat their beloved Hillary Clinton?
My hatred of him started when he make those claims in 2012 about Obama not being born in America. I can't stand habitual liars who don't care about researching facts.
I don't hate Donald Trump but I don't like him either. I will go through a list of things that I like and dislike about him. Things I like about Donald Trump, I like his tough stance on foreign immigration because I think the idea of the United States being absorbed by Mexico or Central America to be a negative thing. I support his initiative to build a giant wall on the United States Mexican border. [Still waiting.] I believe he is right concerning foreign workers driving down wages and job outsourcing hurting the United States economy. I like his protectionist economic model but believe he can do much more. I like the fact that he's not afraid of political correctness because politically correct loony toons are ruining this nation culturally, existentially, and socially. I like how he challenges mainstream media platforms like CNN and MSNBC that are full of morons, propagandists, or useful idiots. I like his constant pointing of error concerning the stupidity of neo liberals on social cultural issues. I like that he is pro gun and free speech. I like that he opposes globalism or at the very least says that he does. I like that he's a nationalist but there is a great deal he is lacking with nationalism in that I'm not a cosmopolitan civic nationalist myself. I don't think he's nationalist enough but at least he's not a globalist like Obama was. I like that he is taking a tough stance against communist China and like him I believe a trade war with China was inevitable. Things I dislike about Donald Trump, his economic policies are atrocious and I feel like he cares more about the obscenely wealthy than the rest of us. I do understand he can only do so much because of problems his administration inherited from Obama nonetheless there are a lot of us in society being left behind economically. I wish he would take a tougher stance against Wallstreet but often enough I feel like he is a Wallstreet insider. He's too soft on the Federal Reserve, audit the Federal Reserve! He's a Christian zionist whose family is practically Jewish. He's a zionist that is a known affiliate of Benjamin Netanyahu and kisses the ass of Israel every chance he gets. I don't like his belligerent antagonism towards Russia, Syria, or Iran militarily. I don't think he's doing enough towards healthcare or education making both more available to everybody. I don't like his arms sales to Saudi Arabia and what has been happening under his leadership in Yemen. I don't like that he is doing nothing concerning wages with this country. At least raise the minimum wage by a few dollars, anything is better than nothing at all. His restructuring of NAFTA is a joke, the whole model should be abandoned altogether. Instead he traded the old NAFTA with a newer model.
As a non-hater I can't comment directly but I believe this was the point when the hate started. His birther movement. At least politically. People hated him for other reasons way before that but that's irrelevant to the thread.
Clinton and Trump were both toxic. I dislike that he was able to cheat on his wives and family - supposedly people he loved - yet his lies were passed off as nothing by his supporters. I dislike that he was able to take his money out of projects and leave his subcontractors and employees broke. He has no honor. An honerable man would have repaid those people once his finances improved - Trump just bought himself another gold toilet for his jet. A man like this will betray his country without batting an eye. So please stop with the pitiful Hillary crap. Trump was an ass long before that.
The saving grace with Trump, and this is more true with him than anyone in our history, is that he is shallow and probably would have no qualm about betraying his country, but he cares about one thing the most. And that's his legacy. In order to achieve that he HAS to be a successful president. This should be reassurance to everyone that he has our best interests at heart, because it will ultimately cement him as one of the greatest presidents in our history. His motives may not be pure but they are real.
Kim looks forward to visiting Washington. He knows he will only be the second most hated man in America.
I never really liked him to be honest. Before he got political I just kind of always thought of him as a trashy reality tv guy.
There was a time I actually admired him for putting up an entertaining TV show. His money was just a minor footnote for me where I said "good for him" But then he got into the birther stuff with Obama. He may not have started it, but if he were smarter or if he was not actually racist, he should KNOW that the birth certificate conspiracy stuff is racist. Especially when he refused to believe it when Obama did produce the long form birth certificate. From this point my attitude turned from mild admiration to dislike. After he announced his run for president, my dislike turned to hate when all his dirty laundry came pouring out. Had he not run for President, I would have stayed at one of his hotels without giving it a second thought.
I hate the Clintons too much to have much feeling left for Trump, but his attacks on free speech and assembly are DEEPLY troubling.
Actually his show was pretty damn good, was number 1 in fact. He was trashy before that but he got some legitimacy in television although you can argue the Miss America thing.
