I was thinking of Brennan. He wasn't fired. All he has done is be harshly critical of the Don since leaving.

 

Well that and lie through his teeth to congress and the American people about surveillance of American citizens at least twice. I don't know about you but that certain constitutes abuse of his position.

And it's clear that Brennan got on the Don's bad side as soon as the Don got the idea that he might have been involved in "spying" on his campaign, since, "unmasked intelligence reports ... involved Donald Trump’s campaign and transition officials." That would have put Brennan in the crosshairs of Trump's (and Nunes's) rigged witch hunt.

 

I wonder if the tactic is to have so many instances of abuse of power that, he hopes, Congress will tire and say: "Ah ****-it! It's too much work. Let's forget the whole thing and let him off the hook"

Not the point. This is an unprecedented action clearly taken as retribution for Brennan's justified criticism and a warning to those on the list their clearances will be revoked if they speak out. The action also violates typical protocols for revocation of a clearance both because there is no accused violation according to a document this WH wrote, and no review process.

 

100% positive that if it were the other way around you would be climbing the walls about a conspiracy and how the LIBERAL NUT JOBS are blocking out the great conservatives trying to cut the deficit. Very much the point. A clearance is not a right. The clearance Brennan and the others held/hold gives them access to the most sensitive information and it carries obligations and responsibilities.

There is nothing to violate with a "typical protocol" and no review process is required. The issue is not about revocation of their clearance. The issue is why they were able to retain their clearance to start with. Access to classified documents also has a requirement for a need to know and Brennan has no need to know.

It Brennan and others have a beef with the president, they can go to congress. I am sure there are numerous democrats there that would gladly listen to them..

There is nothing in there which says I was wrong about anything.

 

He lost his clearance not because he betrayed anything............ Just because he's a Patriotic American.

You don't have to betray anything to lose your clearance. All it takes is a bit of doubt on the likelihood of unauthorized disclosure of classified information.

Every time I read one of these posts, I realize that that some people do the same thing.

 

There is still nothing there that shows anything I said was wrong.

 

The whole clearance system is built around this. If there is the least a bit of doubt about your reliability, your clearance will be denied or revoked, especially when it comes to the clearance which these people held.

 

If "erratic behavior" is the standard by which security clearances are revoked (which it is not according to the documents governing the issuance, maintenance, and revocation of clearances) then Don should have had his revoked months ago.

 

To all but those blinded by absolute devotion to President Flim Flam this is an unprecedented, transparent action taken to punish someone who has spoken out against Don and a warning to those who may do so in the future.
