I think it only reflects this lawlessness that seems to permeate a big chunk of black society that the law does not apply to them and if they witness law breaking oh well just let people violate the law and don't do anything about it. Just look at Chicago. And we see it here repeatedly with the defense of black criminals.

Point being that taking a life is quite a bit weightier than taking a parking space. You can find another parking space. You can't find another life.

OK I don't think the guy was going to kill the person parked there or even commit a crime over it, but it remains if we the citizens to not call out people who violate the law even embarrass them for such an egregious and wontant violation of the law then who will? As I said earlier I don't confront them but do place a slip of paper under the windshield wiper
    "Alabama Handicapped Parking Violation

Anyone who parks in a handicapped space without a valid permit is guilty of a Class B misdemeanor and subject to a fine of up to $1000, a sentence of up to 6 months in jail or both. A person who parks in a handicapped space with an expired permit is guilty of a Class C misdemeanor, which is punishable by up to 3 months in the county or municipal jail.

    You have been reported"

And use an app on my phone to report them.

What do you mean "that deep". And since you know the police will not get there in time to stop the person or ticket the person do you tell them you have called the police. Else what would be the point?

Exactly, so what are going to do write them a ticket. The only thing that is going to happen is a unnecessary confrontation.

Yes or no: the dead man's initial assault was justified?

Shame and embarrass them, but I already said what I do personally.

So you say you call the police, do you tell the person you called the police, else what is the point?

that all depends on how the entitled lady reacted to him.

she thinks she has a human right to park wherever she likes, this guy telling she is parked illegally may have set her off into an angry racist rant.

Because of his past actions of threatening folks with a gun.

    See above.

On this forum when we see the word thug it is equated to someone black.

    "thug" is a color-blind term.

    started in India.

anyone can be a thug, or act in a thuggish manner.

knocking someone down cause they are yelling at your wife, is a thuggish act

Good. That being the opening of violence, dead man started it.

Since it was not a crime, the concept of "justice" does not enter in to it. He was well within his 1st amendment rights to speech. Does that answer your question that ended with a period? He was also being an *******. Does that answer what would surely be your follow up?

    I didn't say he retreated.

Retreated would have been running away, not taking a step back and standing there within 10' of him.

I'm not frustrated at all, I can pop your balloon all day.

You said he froze, then began backing away, then was shot.
You've said it three times now chief. You're only hoisting yourself by your own petard every time you post.

    backing away counts as retreating.

certainly in the minds of a jury

No, but I've said he saw the gun and stopped advancing, stepped back, and remained within 10' feet or so, which is when he got shot.

Retreat means leave the area. Not step back and evaluate the situation from 10' away.

    No, it doesn't.

Remaining within striking distance is not leaving the area, nor is it "retreating".

Retreating is when you turn and flee, which he eventually did, after he was shot.

With all the cursing I hear from black's what's the problem. I have no reason to not believe she started the cursing.

You don't get shot in the front of your body when you're retreating.

The guy on the ground made the decision to shoot him as soon as he hit the concrete and pulled his gun.

    It's called the OODA loop.

What the other guy was doing in the meantime is irrelevant to a lawful self defense shooting.

The attacker had already attacked, shown that he was interested in continuing the attack once the guy was on the ground, so the guy on the ground decided to shoot him.
