Members of this forum are both explicitly and implicitly accused of being 'shills'- members of a gov't kabal who are paid to advocate for the gov'ts official position. I have not seen any direct evidence that would suggest a kabal of 'shills' actually exists. I'm curious if there is in fact evidence that the gov't employees agents in such a manner and/or why some people believe that such shills exist. Not having seen any evidence to support the existence of shills I am of the opinion that the shill hypothesis is little more than a baseless allegation. Am i wrong? If so, why?

The only hint of 'evidence' I've ever come across has been directed towards the Counter Intelligence Program, which was established by the FBI in the 1950's to survey, infiltrate, discredit, and disrupt domestic political organisations - namely Communists. It was shut down in 1971 when the public found out about it. Truthers like to coin it as a predecessor of the 'disinfo shills' which roam the internet today. Truth is, there is not a shred of evidence the COINTELPRO still operates. More to the point, there is not a shred that evidence 9/11 was an inside job, so why there would be the need for this modern day 'cointelpro' is completely illogical.

    Truthers don't care. They use it as an excuse to cover up the fact that their belief system is flawed and corrupt. It comes about because of the way truthers form their belief. They begin with the conclusion; that 9/11 was an inside job. They then selectively collect evidence and stories which fits that conclusion, and discard everything else that doesn't. From then on, all evidence which opposes this conclusion is instantly labeled as 'disinfo' and therefore it makes perfect sense for them to imagine these bogeymen 'shills' are responsible for spreading said disinfo. The mind of a conspiracy theorist is an amazing thing. This guy puts it rather well;

Shills do exist - There normal operation is to use the media to trigger hot button discussions. Generally they are more common around election time and the MO is usually to call talk back radio shows and push whatever agenda is paying them

So the government gets found out and they publicly "end" the program. Or maybe they just renamed it. We know, because they have been caught doing it, that the government engages in this sort of behavior. Why should we believe that they just "found religion" or something and started acting right? More likely is they just figured out a sneakier way to do cointel. Hell, they got away with it for 20 years the first time.

So, the ONLY reason COINTELPRO would logically exist is due to 9/11 being an inside job? Someone should have told the FBI in the 50s-70s that their program logically shouldn't exist since 9/11 hadn't even happened yet. Oh yeah, there are MANY reasons for such a program, not just a single issue.

Also, "shill" doesn't necessarily have to mean someone working for the US government. They could be working for foreign governments, corporations, NGOs, or anybody else willing to pay.

I did notice quite a number of those on the Thom Hartmann show during the last election cycle. This is normal and quite easy to explain and not a bit sinister in the sense of disinforming people and creating a wholle alternative reality. Waste the time of the radio stations that your opponent would otherwise have in his pocket. This is why the Rushblob and Michael "Savage" Weiner and Hannity screen their callers so tightly. No liberal able to really express his opinions is going to get air time with them.

Because they have to keep more people silent now that even career spooks have figured out that the people do not want the program, are not that much in fear of the formless "THEM" against who the program supposedly protects us, and are more liklely now to deal harshly with anybody we catch playing that fiddle today.

We have not always had people in charge of the government who could make such a terribly complex system work. Bush the Lesser was only able to sell his crap to enough people to get the okay to invade Iraq, and that bit in the butt at the end of the day.

[QUITE]Also, "shill" doesn't necessarily have to mean someone working for the US government. They could be working for foreign governments, corporations, NGOs, or anybody else willing to pay.[/QUOTE]

There are really no government-paid shills in on this, nor agents of foreign governments. Corporations are probably too busy bribing freshman congress critters at the ALEC convention to bother with 9/11.

Certain foreign and domestic enemies are, however, deeply invested in Da Twoof. They want the USA destabilized, and paying a bunch of whackadoodles like those who gather around Ground Zero and on the internet conspiracy sites makes perfect sense. What a great way to destroy people's confidence in their own government.

The biggest domestic threat, of course, is from the white nationalists. Da Twoof is their natural recruiting ground. (Well, that and the prison system.) The best way for the Organization to recruit useful idiots to help them in the RaHoWa is to convince people that the government did something terrible to us and are planning to do so again if we do not rise up.

These are the ones who will not let Da Twoof fade away.

The OP asks for evidence of paid shills in this forum. Does anyone have any?

Really? I think they knew very well that people didn't want the program before, hence their keeping it secret. And when they routinely get away with things like cointelpro and the CIA's "Family Jewels", why would they be anything other than encouraged that they can get away with it again? For instance, in the case of family jewels, the CIA released an admission of criminal wrongdoing long after anyone who could be held accountable had left The Company. It was basically wiping it in your face that they did these crimes and got away with it. Until people start going to prison for this (*)(*)(*)(*) en masse, it will continue.

The president doesn't need to be a spymaster. That's what the agencies are for. The people in the 3-letter agencies transcend any particular presidential administration. They can run programs themselves without any help from some guy who just stepped into office. Presidents come and go, but these guys are often in it for life.

Of course. White people are the greatest threat to America. Good thing our loving government is placing orders for billions of bullets to use domestically and flying drones in the US while saying they might just summarily execute Americans with them.

The truthers on this forum astound me. I have never seen truthers post so much while producing absolutely no evidence. Like this thread, like the UA93 thread, even when asked repeatedly, no evidence produced.

At least one of them is a would-be revolutionary, seemingly just the typical anarcho-nihilist nuisance. He may, however, very well be a "legal" for the Organization, as described in The Turner Diaries.

Those people are all over any conspiracy site of any kind. They are having a field day with the Dorner case.

Some are legals, actually in on the conspiracy to start the RaHoWa, some are what are called "useful idiots." They wouldn't touch a Nazi cause with a ten-foot pole, but get really excited if they think the government is out to get them. If they can be convinced to take up arms in some other nebulous, totally fictitious cause, the resulting chaos gives the Organization the openings it needs, rather as the Salafist used the Tuareg in the recent unpleasantness in Mali.

Wow. For a movement thats fast to label things disinformation, you fail to recognise an actual example. Not only is the page incomplete, poorly cited, and poorly written, but the only 'example' of 'counter-disinformation' is a once off release to common conspiracy claims from 2006. Boy these guys must be working overtime! ... there is nothing pointing to a consistent, ongoing campaign by them, or even that they had any sort of campaign to begin with.

Are you wanting another source with their name on it? Maybe they operate under the radar nowadays. I don't know, and I'm not privy to all of the workings, dealings, and going-ons in American governmental agencies. The point is though, they have been revealed:

You also 'knew' the hole in the Pentagon was only 16 feet in diameter.
You also 'know' that no one died on 9/11.
    Etc, etc.

You lack evidence and credibility, but not hilarity.

What do you want? Their pay stubs? The only evidence that we would have that shills are on this site are from the posts of the shills themselves. I am still waiting on the appearance of one poster who seems to show up in every 9/11 "conspiracy" thread. A member who "coincidentally" named himself after the event, and whose screen name also claims patriotism (rally around the flag cuz of 9/11 and commence groupthink). He is a fixture in this subforum, almost as if it were his assignment.

You should be aware that there are people who make it a life's mission to destroy movements that they consider evil. Like the Nazi hunters of the WWII generation, there are those of us who know that we have to be forever on the lookout for the larvae that that generation of Nazis left behind, ready to slap them back into their place. That they pop up so offen in 9/11 and other CT fora, this becomes one of the lays we monitor.

A lot of the threads started by committed 9/11 CTers smell like Zyklon-B.

Related to COINTELPRO? What are you talking about? When did I even mention COINTELPRO?
