Should Amy Barrot and Brett Kavanaugh be punished fot lying?

Amy Barret and Brett Cavanaugh BOTH stood up in front of congress, and said "Roe is the settled law of the land"

They are obviously big fat liars.

Should they be punished? And if so, in what way?

Personally, I think they should be impeached. And baring that. Pack the court. I wasnt originally a fan of the packing idea, but with the extremism of this current court coming to light, and enforcing an extreme minority opinion upon the masses, there is no other choice.

Neither side should have a packed court. Anyone wanting a packed court is only interesting in pushing their agenda onto others. Just like no party should control congress. We get nowhere good with one party in control...that would be pretty much a dictatorship.

Except that Trump and Mitch McConnell ALREADY PACKED THE COURTS.

They STOLE a Supreme Court seat by refusing to allow Merrick Garland to be seated.

They REFUSED to confirm a single federal appellate judge for 3 YEARS.

As soon as Trump was president though, they stuffed the courts with very young, often times unqualified judges who will remain in those seats now for the next 30-40 years.

THE REPUBLICANS ALREADY PACKED THE COURTS.


So, basically, we would just be balancing out the power that was already stolen.

 

That isn't a lie. They said Roe was settled law and it was. They did not promise never to unsettle it. Get over yourself. It is decided. Move on and adapt.

 

If the Democrats add 2 or 4 more SCOTUS justices, when the Republicans regain control, they'll add 4 more only to have the Democrats add more when they return to power and so on. Soon the SCOTUS will have 99 or more justices.

Impeachment is the only legal course according to the Constitution which would go nowhere.

 

Are you willing to submit Kamala, Feinstein, et al for their BS charges against Kavanaugh? And if not, how is what they did introducing obvious lies to the judicial committee not the same thing? Or when Joe Biden says he won't attack energy, and then he does, should he go to jail for lying to get elected? Where do you want to start this game?

I am honestly surprised they haven't been impeached already. I've written employment contracts and disclosure and/or discovery of information listed on application is proven to be false is/are grounds for immediate termination. I don't know why anyone thinks somebody should be above "the law", especially the top law interpreters in the country.

If we can't rely on our justices, at State-level and everything in between all the way to SCOTUS, what's the point? Just declare it the Wild, wild west again and anything goes.

 

Technically they filled empty seats. Sure the Repubs pulled a c**t move when Obama tried to fill a seat but what are we going to do, keep adding seats to try to out do the other side? Where will it end?
