The accusation against Trump is that he wanted an investigation into the Bidens to smear Joe Biden and ruin his election chances. But if father and son are hauled before the Senate and questioned by the GOP surely it will achieve the same aim?

The entire inquiry concerning corruption, garnishments, bribes, and illegality in the Obama regime's dealings in Ukraine focused directly on Joe Biden and his cocaine-huffing child!

If ANYBODY is going to be forced to provide testimony under oath in the Senate, it MUST include full disclosure and responses from both of these Biden's. For there to be any kind of 'double-standard' in this Senate trial would make an even bigger mockery and injustice out of this whole, stinking political circus than it already is!

No they shouln't. I believe Bidens have dirt on themselves but their testimony in Trump's trial is irrelevant. Even if Biden's crimes be proven in the senate that doesn't mean the jurors should vote for acquittal of Trump.
But I like to see Bidens in a different trial. Even though legally speaking I don't think no one can prove that Biden did that for the sake of his son he can always argue that I was doing US policy of fighting corruption in Ukraine .
As the matter of fact I think it's absolute stupidity on Trump's part to go after Biden on such case . And the fact is that Trump himself gifted the opportunity of impeachment to Pelosi.

You don't agree that if it is proven there was corruption stemming from the Vice President that it should have been investigated? Running for office gives one immunity?

No I personally believe that Biden is guilty. But first his case is irrelevant to Trump's second I don't think that it's even provable.

Hunter and Joe being guilty or innocent of anything has nothing to do with the charges against trump.

The bribery, corruption, arm-twisting, and 'garnishments' involved in Biden's dealings with the Ukrainian oligarchs was THE reason that Trump was asking the Ukraine government for help in an investigation in the FIRST place. Had there been no signs of corruption by Joe Biden or his bust-out 'child', there would have been NO pretext FOR an investigation!

For the simple-minded, maybe another approach is required.... "Where there's smoke, there's fire." The Ukrainian political 'skies' were a huge cloud of "smoke"... and Joe Biden was a veritable FIRESTORM of corruption!

But, I guess if I were a simple-minded Biden supporter, I'd be hoping that if he's elected, ol' Joe might be able to scratch around and get ME a $50,000-a-month job DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

The mistake you're making is you are allowing yourself to think that trump asked for the Bidens to be investigated. That's wrong. He simply wanted the new President to say that he was having the Bidens investigated. Try real hard to see if you can figure out the difference.

OK, then, you said, "He (Trump) wanted the new President (of Ukraine) to say that he was having the Bidens investigated." Is that correct? It must be... it's a direct quote.

Now then, -- exactly WHAT was Trump ostensibly asking the new Ukrainian president to investigate? WAS IT BIDEN'S ARROGANT, SELF-SERVING CORRUPTION IN THE BURISMA SCANDAL, the one that got 'sonny boy' Hunter his $50,000-a-month job doing nothing but being ol' Joe's kid...?

He pressured Ukrainian president to fire the AG. Because he feared that AG investigate Burisma Holdings and find the dirt on Hunter.
But the problem is that the AG was kind of corrupt himself and Biden can easily argue that he was a corrupt AG and my mission was to fight corruption in Ukraine so I just carried on US policy at that time.

If Biden is guilty.....why is it not in the Nations interest to pursue that? Had there been a quid pro quo, money would have been with held. It was not. There was no investigation so no crime. However, do you feel it was improper for President Trump to request info into Biden's guilt? Do you think Quid Pro Quo Joe should be immune merely because of his run for POTUS?

No it shouldn't be. Biden should be tried. But no one can prove it.
It's not improper at all. The improper thing is that he do that for a self interest. Withholding the aid has nothing to do with Biden . If Trump wanted Biden to be investigated he shouldn't withhold the aid. The fact that he did means that he is using his power to serve a personal benefit.
And that's the reason he is being tried. Now either Biden be guilty or innocent, Trump did abuse his power.

You only know that because the Fake News told you that. How do you know that Trump was trying to weed out all kinds of corruption in the Ukraine and Biden was just a part of it? It seems what you are saying is, Biden may be guilty, but he cannot be charged because he is running for Potus and Trump had no right to look into that.
Do you think it was right for Democrats to use a fake dossier provided by Russian Intelligence to spy on Trumps Campaign? I'd just like to know how deep you have fallen for leftist narratives.

In good faith, I quoted you directly, and tried to ask you why you think Trump was trying to do something besides delve into Biden's bald-faced corruption in Ukraine. And you came back with, "Only the pervert knows." ???

Do you even begin to understand WHY so many of us on the Right find so many of you on the Left to be dishonest, disreputable, and perfectly willing to distort, obviate, and otherwise manipulate events, facts, and situations to be harmonious with your own political agendas?

You might as well face it, whether you want to countenance it or not -- Biden's campaign is shot to pieces because of his mindless, blathering-ass corruption. A moron like Biden could get the welfare-sucking, hyperliberal vote, but he won't get the vote of the 'rational Middle Class', and any Democrat MUST have that to win! If the senseless, shallow Left hopes to have any chance of throwing Trump out, it will be with MICHAEL BLOOMBERG. Think about it....

Oh... confession time! My bad. I said Hunter Biden was given a job making $50,000-a-month. Actually, according to the latest information, it was more like $83,000-a-month! In a foreign country, in an industry he knew nothing (NOTHING) about!

Yes... we should all be so fortunate as to have a "Daddy" who could -- AND HAPPILY WOULD -- get us jobs like THAT one!

[IMG]. "Blood's thicker than water", or urine. And a clown like Biden pisses on us all!

I do owe you an apology. I just finished watching a recording of last nights Bill Maher show. He said something I hadn't thought before and I have to agree with him 100%. His point was it's o.k. to hate trump but we shouldn't hate trump supporters. I agree with him.

Now, back to your question, You and I are so far apart in our thoughts on trump that my comment "only the pervert knows" is the best you're going to get. Any thing else would require too much effort and besides it would be useless, so why bother?

I'll happily endorse it if Trump, Parnas and Bolton are included, and all five testify on camera, in front of the full Senate, with no option to break away if Moscow Mitch feels uncomfortable with what's being said. What say you?

No I'm really not saying that. Dosen't matter what position they have they should be charged. I say Trump's trial is irrelevant.
Trump can look into Ukraine for corruption but withholding the aid is not the way because aid was a law and if he doesn't aid Ukraine he is giving Pelosi an excuse to impeach him.
Because Pelosi will say "Biden is innocent he was just doing what Obama told him to do (and he really was) to fight corruption in Ukraine (and he actually did. AG was corrupt) but Trump was withholding the aid on a groundless charge on Biden and by that logic he just did that to hurt his opponent for a self-interest".
Trump shouldn't do that in the first place he should have known that he can not charge Biden.

AFAIK, neither of them have been on trial. Or indicted or similar.

This was an impeachment about the prez trying to extort a foreign gov't with money said gov't was granted by congress. And trying to do the extortion without formal gov't officials.

The Bidens really have nothing to do with this impeachment. Except for the criminal saying that is who he wanted investigated.
Had he tried to do the investigation legally, then there would be a reason to call them.
