Just as the question states.

Should Muslims be barred from holding governmental public office?

At a state level? or a federal level? Both? None?

 

The only people residing in America who should be prohibited from holding governmental public office are those individuals with "Dual Citizenship" to another country.

 

I think we should ban Christians from holding public office, if they hold the Bible over the US Constitution

 

I suppose I look at it this way. When anyone who is elected takes their oath of office, they vow to support and defend our constitutional process. If Muslim candidates can, in good conscience, take this oath, without reservation, then why not?

I suspect though, that if we find out there were reservations, or as a function of their elected office we find evidence of their willingness to introduce or otherwise advance Sharia, there would be a problem. Perhaps it's a maturity issue that folks who are Muslim have to adapt to or assimilate into. For those, like Omar who continue to advance obviously problematic policy that doesn't support constitutional process, there need to be remedies where appropriate to protect citizens from their Sharia Zeal.

Can you offer one reason to suggest that Muslims are different to any other religious cult, and therefore a reason to make rules exclusive to them. By the way did you know that the first thing the nazis did was preclude jews from public office?

 

Nope, I personally cant, and I think they should be allowed to hold any public office as long as they meet the citizen requirements.

Im curious what other people think. I have seen many calls for not allowing a muslim to hold office though.

Muslims in the USA have opportunity and equality, unlike in France and Belgium
