Should Proven Competency be a requirement for President

Trump is no longer POTUS. All he can do is talk and as long as you and the MSM continue to give him attention he will. You're not getting the fact that you're supporting him more than Republicans are.

 

Trump ran the country well? GDP went down, the country lost about $300 billion due to the Trade war with China? Our national debt increased to record levels, all our allies turned against us,etc. Is that running the country well?

 

Trump is no longer POTUS but he is going to run again in 2024, so he could be POTUS again. He is not out of the picture. If he was out of the picture, I would not be talking about him. Nice try, but a strike out. Try again.

 

You're still not getting it. The only reason why Trump MIGHT run in 2024 is because of the attention you and the MSM still give him. You fire up his base which in turn fires him up.

Has it occurred to you that the obsession problem is actually Trump and not us? The obsession problem is easily resolved if you take Trump out of the picture. Suddenly, 95% of the obsession goes away. Simple solution, take ONE person out of the equation and the obsession is over. It is a whole lot more difficult to take 300 million people out of the equation than just getting one out, isn't it?

Trump generates obsession just like God and the Devil generate obsession.

Trump lifted 4.2 million out of poverty, you have to go back to the Lyndon. B. Johnson days to beat that quantity.

Have him go away and not make any statements. Not have him running for office. Basically be "out of the picture" so that we do not know he even exists.

I always look at the big picture. Humans are fallible and therefore there is not a single human being that doesn't do something wrong.

Nonetheless and like with a marriage (for better or worse), you want to choose the person that does more good than bad.

Talk about cherry picking, you are doing that. For every good thing that Trump did, I can name you 10-20 things he did badly. As such, he is not someone America needs to be married to.

By the way, you mention he took 4.2 million out of poverty? No he did not. If you are talking about the tax cut, that was McConnell and the House and the Senate that was controlled by the Republicans that did that. They had wanted to do that for ages before Trump came along and they were able to do it because they controlled all three branches of government. Trump did absolutely nothing but sign the paper. He gets no credit for that.

Well the OP already answered that question, he determines competency, and he's determined that Biden has it and Trump doesn't.

 

I do believe that a President of the United States should be able to answer the following questions.......

What year is this?

What month are we in?

What nation are you in?

What are the names of your wife and children and grandchildren?

How old is your wife, each of your children and each of your grandchildren?

I have serious doubts that Biden could score higher than sixty or seventy percent on an extremely basic competency test after four pm!

For the record...although President Trump has trouble finding honest and competent people for all the many initiatives that he got going..... he is another league altogether than Biden....... Biden is incompetent and Trump, in my opinion, is genius level..... although human and flawed and I do feel that the Abrahamic Peace Accords are flawed and rather dangerous in their unedited form.
