    True.

As long as Puerto Rico shares our values, expands the use of English, and gets their budget problem corrected, let them be a state.

Yeah, it's bad for southerners to vote for anyone besides Democrats... right? That way when Democrats tell these poor, ignorant southerners that they can keep their health insurance, keep their doctors, and save $2,500 every year on health insurance premiums they can be certain (CERTAIN) that nobody's LYING to them... right? :roflol:

Uh, you just presented three conditions in a row that a corrupt, liberal SLAG-HOLE like Puerto Rico would never comply with....

No problem there. California already wants to secede. We tell California to hit the road and welcome Puerto Rico. The flag remains unchanged.

Interesting! I can admire Puerto Ricans for remaining loyal to Spain even in the face of spreading 19th-century American imperialism.

As part of Obama's Eight-Year 'Apology Tour', I wonder why he didn't just summarily give Puerto Rico back to Spain? He did nearly everything else by Presidential Decree and Executive Order... so surely he could have done something that all the other 'internationalists' would have adored him for -- returning Puerto Rico to its proper owners!

If they can't comply, then no statehood.

Here's an even better idea -- roll out the red carpet for Kalifornia to exit from the United States - as soon as possible, and, give Puerto Rico back to Spain! That way we can "kill two rats with one rock"....

Why does everything have to be evaluated on the basis of money or cost? There are more meaningful aspects of life that have greater value.

You sound more like a states-righter reincarnated from the Confederacy than an American living in 2018. Your post illustrates the conservatives' inability to accept those who disagree with them as equals, or even as humans worthy of being tolerated. I can't express how strongly I disagree with you.

How typical of the hyperliberal Left that anyone who expresses an opinion different from their own is automatically construed to be someone who does not believe all citizens are equal-before-the-law, or that others are even human beings.

Can you dispute that MANY Californians want to leave the United States? Let them vote! Let them control their own lives and their own destinies. After all -- there is NOTHING in the Constitution that forbids any state from leaving the United States! If California wants to leave, why should they be forced to stay? Only totalitarian, tyrannical governments FORCE people to remain in a country they don't want to be in! Or do you disagree? Me? I'm all about FREEDOM!

Puerto Rico? What does it have to offer as an additional STATE? Uh, nothing? Even before the big hurricane hit it last year, it was already a stinking nest of corruption, liberal politicians, and huge dependence on handout welfare. We need MORE of that, as as STATE?
I'm sure a welfare parasite in Puerto Rico is equal to an welfare parasite in any other part of the United States -- so, you see? I'm not prejudiced... I see all American welfare parasites as being perfectly EQUAL....

a few Caribbean Islands have already said they wanted to join Canada and give up their independent status as Nations...Canadians were warm to the idea but government types quashed the idea claiming it makes Canada look like a colonial power and we'd have re-open the Constitution to be revised...I think what it really was a fear those Islands would evacuate and all the residents would take the first available flight to Canada, considering the small populations it wouldn't have much effect on Canada if they did...I'm okay with the idea, Canada has the wealth to improve the quality of life on those islands and it represents vacation investment opportunities to Canadians...PR as part of Canada, sure ...and then send us your Dreamers, luv to have them...

    lolol

Not a bad idea, actually, as they will turn it into one gigantic gambling casino and tourist spot. Furthermore, they would turn it into a tax haven where people can shelter their income from the IRS the way the Cayman Islands did. This would effectively bankrupt Las Vegas while enriching the people in PR.

The result - no more unemployment, further infrastructure development, and much greater advancement.

    Thanks for the suggestion!

P.R. has proved that it is an island sh!t hole.

It should not be a state.

Better to give them independence and kick them out.

Hey Pollycy, let's have you demand that the welfare queens in the farm belt who voted for Trump be exiled from the country and their lands sent to Canada because of all the welfare those queens get:

Why are farmers such shíthole pukes?

I thought you would have said these shíthole pukes should be exiled into Canada or something, by now ...
