That is not how national policy is decided, although the popular vote would be for legalized abortion. It is also a slippery slope, what other issues would backers want to be put to a national vote. Lower taxes, free college, stop all immigration? The public can be short sighted and unfamiliar with all the facts in a decision. Look at California's ballot proposition process.

It should be put to a vote state by state and allowed or restricted state by state. Its not and never should have been a federal issue. FTR I oppose restricting it, and thats how I would vote in my state if given the opportunity.

No. And a Vaccine Mandate shouldn't be up for a vote unless you can get a 2/3rds majority.

The problem on this front for the Democrats is that they want us to play by their rules when it comes to abortion, but they don't care about the Constitutional Legal Theory that's become the foundation of the right to privacy between patient and doctor in matters of treating medical issues. Privacy is a right willed into existence by Justices through a web of convoluted legal arguments that it's best to use it in rare circumstances where the spirit of the legal rationale is not contradicted by future decisions. Privacy is essential for both participation in choosing to kill an unborn child, as well as the denial of compulsory medical treatment. Both are related through legal inversion. Just like you have the first amendment right to associate with someone (Join Nazis or Antifa despite government objections), you also have the right to disassociate (compelled to join Nazis and Antifa by government).
