Should the government be the only ones with guns?

In Israel, every citizen is to join the armed forces for a period. They are required to be armed with military weapons. Lucifer, I think you give yourself away. Do you imply employees of the government should be entrusted with these weapons but other citizens should not? Do they have a more perfect human nature?? Point is, gun population is much higher there than here proportionately yet their culture is not as diverse. By and large, they are people of faith and a common sense of morality. In America we are all over the map. Increasingly we devalue life.
If you want to bring up Australia, you might as well bring up Hong Kong while your at it.....or even mainland China. Australia has a small population with a very common culture throughout. It is an island with no land borders. They have very strong immigration policies and Muslims aren't welcome to express their diverse opinions. Australia will be fine as long as Progressives don't start showing their iron hand.
China and Hong Kong already show the iron hand. Nations where liberty is void. I really don't care what other nations do. The United States is Unique and great. You may differ and we aren't going to take you out and shoot you for that. Perhaps they would in China.

That is where we part ways. The Constitution is a document. It says what it says. If we are going to change with the wind, like every Progressive, we don't need any agreements among men. We all have our own opinions. It's amazing our Constitution has lasted this long with people believing as you do that want to warp it into your own thinking. We've watched them do that with the Bible and have witnessed all the dead churches as a result. There will always be a remnent that knows what it says.

Can you say Moral Relativity.......or Situational Ethics? I bet you can!!!

Sometimes men and women seek a common ground and when they seek a higher power than themselves in unison (that is precisely what they did) miracles happen. Our Constitution was a miracle and it is for all times. It has been amended only due to the provisions in it. Those that believe in no higher unifying power will always change with the wind.

That's quite a leap. That would have never occurred to me. That's very telling.

The "criminals" are whomever the government, at that time, in that place, considers them to be.

I think that we need to keep abortion legal because there is a time to kill.
Let mothers choose the slain; after all, moms know.
Besides, unless you think that you know better than their own mothers who to kill,
abortion kills all of the right people. After all, none of the pro-life people are being aborted.

Think about this. If not for Roe V. Wade, there would now be among us, just here in the US, another thirty some million people all raised by mothers who would have just as soon killed them had it been legal. That sounds like the makings for a nightmare to me. So, I submit to you again, abortion kills the right people.

Put a sign in your front yard declaring your house a gun-free zone, and you'll get some credibility with me. Otherwise, stop hiding behind the rest of us.

Given the ridiculously low number of people that are killed by an assault-style rifle by comparison I find it odd that any kind ban would start with ar15's.

I'm curious if you csn post what you would consider is an acceptable list of weapons that should be banned.
    The 94 ban list?
    Feinstein's?

I trust the police to protect me much more than myself. I am only concerned about what the guy in front of me may do, the police protect me from a guy that may hurt me tomorrow, by removing him from society. I think the military does a better job at preventing an enemy from invading than me and my 12 gauge remington does.

What disarmed citizenry are you referring to.

Now people should be able to own private weapons for thier self defense, but to think that you can protect you and your family better than a professional police force your nuts, unless you live on a ranch in wyoming. If it was not for the police criminals would have even more guns and the murder rate would explode.

Damm just look at the cattle towns of the West, everyone was armed and the murder rate made chicago seem like
    Switzerland.

Absolutely. Gun rights are not being abused. Some guns are being abused by psychos.

Law enforcement who don't believe in enforcing laws need to be sent packing to the unemployment line.

It would seem their constuents dont agree. Most of em got elected campaigning against Seattles anti-gun laws.

One could argue (as I do) that the Sheriffs in WA, being locally elected and constitutionally defined as the 'Chief LE Authority' within their jurisdiction (their County) is a built-in protection against both state and federal overreach. Their authority to enforce the law (or not) is at the discretion of their constuents within their interpretation of both the state and federal constitution.

Law enforcement should not be able o decide which law they wants to enforce. That is anarchy and you are supporting the behavior. Their asinine behavior is the cause of many preventable shootings. They should be jailed.

Who should jail them? They are the 'Chief LE Authority' within their jurisdiction, elected directly by the people who reside in that jurisdiction.

Do you think 'Immigration Sanctuary Cities' are 'supporting anarchy'?

What? Their own police officers can arrest them for not obeying the laws. Sherriffs are not dictators.
