Should the Inagrual festivities be cancelled in January 2021? They usually have big parties in addition to the ceremony where the new President is sworn in. I don't see how they will be able to do any of that stuff in the age of COVID-19.

Good question. I think much of it depends on what happens with the rollout of the vaccine, if any, by then. I, personally, wouldn't jump on the bandwagon to get a vaccine that was rushed through testing and release but I know many people who are ready to do "just about anything" to have everything back to normal. I don't believe we will *ever* go back to the time before COVID-19 and we're just waiting to know what our new *normal* will be. Vaccine or not, I wouldn't rush to attend a big party with hundreds of people anytime soon.

I agree with you 100%. I am leery of any vaccine they rush out to the public also.

I have never cared about that whole stupid idea, the absurdity of it all really hit me when the Messiah rode on a train from PA to DC so that everyone could wave at him and marvel at his greatness, and many of you suckers lined up to worship him and his manwife. It was disgusting. Hell, all of these stupid parties are disgusting I wish Trump has said after the swearing in, "lets get to work, fixing the damage Obama did" and then skip the party.

I'm sure they will be curtailed and subject to the same protocols as other events but we should celebrate the transitions or continuations of power as we always do.

I so weary of 'ceremony' in government now, I am just JADED with it all to the point where I could not possibly care less -- no matter who is elected. It might set a valuable precedent if whoever wins, that person would say, "Hey, instead of blowing a lot of money on some big so-called celebration that thrills half of us, and makes the other half of us want to PUKE, let's just apply that money toward the NATIONAL DEBT instead."

Sure, it would be a silly gesture... like comparing a hamster turd to Mt. Everest, but at least it would convey an idea that is tragically overdue.

But instead he spent the next four years playing victim, pointing fingers, replacing the swamp with a sewer, golfing and tweeting.

Yes, but you left out the parts where he brought jobs back to America, reversed Obama's idiocy, Made incredible changes to the VA, built back our military, destroyed ISIS, (the varsity not the JV team), made the USA the largest producer of oil in the world, ended the gag order on pharmacists, lowered YOUR taxes, signed the Save our Seas Act, lowered the costs of prescriptions on thousands of drugs, created a reinsurance pool to offset some of the insane Obamcare prices, prison reform that changed the lives of black people he apparently hates, Funded historically black colleges, he probably hates as well, single family home sales up 31%, dropped the poverty rate to a 17 year low, doubled the convictions of human trafficers, (upsetting democrats no doubt), killed the number one terrorist in the world Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, or as democrats call him, religious scholar,
I have over a hundred more, but I don't want to see you cry.

All this and much more done while the crybabies still won't accept the election results and fight him on everything.

In other words, the best President in Your lifetime. the debate is over, as liberals like to say.

Virtually all of your economic indicators followed trend lines set during the Obama administration and accounting for the willful ignoring of how to tackle the virus all of the gains have been completely wiped out. Several of your other items are not in place and have no working mechanism to achieve the wanted outcome.

Why would you posting a handful of positive things he has enacted “make me cry”? I want to see Americans and America succeed — and phrases like that move the discussion from in good faith to... well... trolling. I do not believe that the dozen or so policy changes he has made that I agree with outweighs the negatives he has brought to this nation — trolling as a political sport, amplified partisan divide, destruction of decorum and ethics, replacing key qualified members of our institutions with hacks and yes men, and multiplied the national debt to a number that was unimaginable before him.

As for him lowering MY taxes — I don’t know if you are paying attention (I can assume in the negative) but we have a massive unfunded tax cut that will have to be repaid by future generations. You might cheer that your children will have to pick up the destruction YOUR generation has caused by complete and total irresponsibility and selfishness — I do not.

As for fighting the president that was elected against the wishes of the public — what do you believe the right did with a two time dully elected president? I am guessing you didn’t have an issue then but this is now unfathomable in your mind (cognitive dissonance in a nutshell). And the “best president in MY lifetime” is a joke — he will end up with numerous convictions when he leaves office. What is being uncovered now will pale in comparison to what is discovered when he doesn’t have the entire system set up to defend him. Your words will be remembered however.

Yes they should have a party and they should also do fireworks assuming antifa crazies haven't bought all the fireworks to shoot at cops at their peaceful protests.

If Biden wins, the Cornavirus will quickly disappear - so they will, unquestionably, hold the usual festivities.

I wouldn't suggest ever having them. There are much better things for which to spend the money.

I completely agree. There is no need for the balls or the parade. The obscene amounts of money spent could well go to more worthy causes. And now that we are seeing the financial disaster resulting from covid, it would be irresponsible to carry on as though nothing has happened.
