Besides the first election, I voted in them all. It was Reagan, Bush, Bush, Dole, GW Bush, GW Bush (you seriously would have voted for Kerry, or would it have been third party?), McCain, Romney, Johnson, ???

I did a similar thing. I voted for Johnson over Trump as a protest vote, but, I wasn't worried if I hurt Trump's chances or not (didn't, but I could have, and I didn't care).

For some of us, we decided not to vote for the lesser of two evils. I couldn't vote for evil, in Republican or Democrat clothing.

Do you feel guilty over Hillary's loss.

I did the same, but not because I gave a crap about Trump. I vote by conscience not party. I'll vote for who aligns best with my views. Right now that's someone like Gary Johnson. I don't agree with him on everything but he's 1) sane and 2) knows the role of government.

I vote all Republican, at all levels, no exceptions, ever.
I could never vote for a pro-abortion, pro-gay-marriage party, ever.

If McCain hadn't been stuck with Palin in 2008, I would've voted for McCain, but because the Republican stuck McCain with Palin, I knew Obama was the only clear choice.

@TrumpTrain, you might as well label yourself anti-American as well!

I liked Palin better than I liked McCain. Can't figure out why you disliked Palin. Was it the MSM attacks on her that caused you to veer from McCain?

And too weak to win. Proven by the results of the election.

I compromise and stick to republicans since they alone can defeat Democrats, and that is my main goal ... beat the Democrats.

Keep that up and the Democrats will regain both the House and Senate as well as the presidents job.

I call that the pouting vote. i respect any voters right to pick whom they want. But this country has no means for a protest vote to win. Ergo pouting.

Me too. I think I voted for whoever was running Libertarian in 2008. And regretted it ever since. I will never pull a stunt like that again.

After reading the Democratic Party's platform quite a while back, I knew I could never vote Democrat. When I got to the part about some demographic groups simply have to have help and always will need help (at that time, they were talking about blacks), I knew that wasn't what I believe.

I couldn't in good conscience vote for either major candidate. Neither should have any power at all due to their lack of moral character. Yes, it's a protest vote. I was hoping enough of us would vote protest to make a difference. That said, other than that I voted primarily Republican (except for a few local seats, where the Republican nominee should not have power due to their lack of character). I have done enough "hold your nose and vote Republican" votes that I refuse to do it anymore. It's up to the candidates to persuade me. Admittedly, there are almost no dems who qualify.

No, I'm actually relieved, or as I told my wife, I'm not as unhappy that Trump won as I would have been had Hillary won. Funny thing is that the Hillary supporters I know blamed me for Trump winning, since to them, not voting for Hillary was the same as voting for Trump.

Well, in hindsight, I'm glad Palin wasn't a heartbeat away from the Presidency. Her actions post-campaign have been pretty idiotic for the most part. That said, I was more enthusiastic with her at the time than I was for McCain. She was a reason to vote for McCain in November of 2008. I changed my views about her in the years since.

She is a civilian. She has left the political arena. What do you mean she has been pretty idiotic?

Most of us feel the same way. I still stick to defeating Democrats. The third party never will compete on the same footing with the two majors. Seeing this, i decide to win, beat Democrats. We have to lower the bar and hold our nose, but it is far better than having one more Obama in power.

In a wild election, where one of the candidates flat out dominates the other, i believe not voting or voting 3rd party is a waste but at least the waste was not on a duplicate of Obama nor Hillary. We have to get the mentality that we must always defeat Democrats. To see them win is a loss for all of this county.

Do I not see flaws in Trump? i see flaws. I saw many more when Obama ran the show. We keep acting like pouters and this nation will get another Obama in office then how will you handle things?

Run a decent man for President, I'll vote for him. The first non-decent Republican nominee for President was Trump. I couldn't in good conscience vote for him. I had thought about voting for him in 2020, but people like you make me remember how much I dislike his low moral character, and I will probably stand firm with 3rd party. Also Trump never had a majority of Republicans in the primary. He had a plurality, but that was because the media worked hard to help him win the primary. He was the dem's first choice for Republican nominee.

She just says stupid things all the time. Honestly, I'm not impressed by her family. She's done a pretty piss poor job of raising her kids. As I said, in 2008, I was more enthusiastic for voting Republican because of her. Since then, I realize that I was wrong. I'm a morals/character voter. That's why most of the time I vote Republican over Democrat. Most Republicans are more moral than most Democrats, and that's why I vote for them. I couldn't do that in 2016, and nothing you write will change my mind on that.

Obama wasn't running for President and won't be running for President. He's still a better choice than Hillary. That said if it had been Obama vs. Trump, I would have voted third party as well.

I've seen five Republican presidents in person (Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush, Bush). I shook hands with Reagan the day before he was elected president in 1980, and I was a volunteer on his 1984 re-election campaign.

It doesn't get much more Republican than that.

Bill Clinton yes Obama no, country was fractured by 2016 already Obama would have lost.

People loved Bill there was something about him (His adopted father was a used car salesman I have no doubt a good one)

Likely, Reagan would have continued being elected until his death. I know, the left like to believe that only their choices have durability, but clearly, they do not.

Clinton would not have been reelected, his brand had been broken by 1998. Obama wouldn't have been reelected again. Folks having had enough of the constant divisiveness.
