Drones can now be equipped with high-powered cameras, license-plate readers, thermal-imaging devices and infrared tech that can detect heat patterns through walls, and will soon have sensors to 'sniff' the contents of a home and facial recognition (or soft-biometric) tech that can track people based on height, gender, and skin color. So, yeah, we're concerned about our 'privacy'. They may want to come over for dinner if it smells like shrimp linguini or let my insurance company know if I'm consuming to many Porter house.... http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_22508119/privacy-worries-may-stall-commercial-use-drone-aircraft
That’s an understandable temptation. After all, drones (combined with mobile operations like the assassination of bin Laden in May 2011) seem to have given the United States an unprecedented ability to take out the leadership and many of the rank-and-file of networked resistance movements like al Qaeda, far more cheaply than the old model of counter-insurgency warfare.
I mean why wouln't they disperse these in the states? We have so many rank and file resistance movements like Al Qaeda here.
The FAA will need to establish UAS (drones) regulations before they can operate in U.S. airspace. For example less than 400' AGL, only during daylight, inside Class G (uncontrolled) airspace and away from airports or other locations with aviation activities. We're a ways away from a total integration of unmanned systems with manned aircraft systems and air traffic control.
These same sensors could be attached to manned aircraft already flying around. - - - Updated - - - That is going to be the biggest headache. I know many who are trying to work on this.
It should be interesting to see where this leads.... http://www.againstcronycapitalism.o...omes-the-first-city-in-the-usa-to-ban-drones/ - - - Updated - - - It should be interesting to see where this leads.... http://www.againstcronycapitalism.org/2013/02/charlottesville-virginia-becomes-the-first-city-in-the-usa-to-ban-drones/
