Yeah I make it with potatoes, cabbage and carrots but it just isn't, I don't know, its a taste I can leave. Im already thinking how Im gonna eat this. Maybe on a piece of toasted Italian bread with lots of mustard and a tiny amount of meat. No vegetables because they cooked in that meat and have that...taste. I mean its good food and all but there is just something about it I can leave.

Come on over Foolie. Plenty to go around. You like carrot cake?

I don't eat much salt at all. Never have. I think it was because my family was huge so waiting for the salt shaker to reach you was an all day event. Lots of food people think isn't salty enough I find way too salty, but that anchovy paste was pure salt.

Im a salt addict. Prefer salty snacks and usually add salt to food. I blame it on being poor during my formative years and learning enough salt & pepper makes anything edible. Even water gravy over bread. ;)

For me, it resulted from the fact that most processed foods are high in carbs as well as salt. I stopped eating processed foods because of the carbs. I only stopped eating the salt inadvertently. I didn't realize how much my salt intake had been reduced by going to mostly natural foods. In fact, my first realization of this was with that long-awaited (over 2 years) first bite of pizza.

I love to travel. Been lots of places… Most recently (November) I pedaled my bike down about 600km of the Ho Chi Minh trail in Laos to raise money for an organization called MAG, which does unexploded ordnance removal all over the place, but Laos was where we focused our energy. I should figure out how to post a photo or two...

I'm from Idaho, but I've had the luck to get to travel a lot.

I was a sugar addict with hardcore blood sugar issues. On top of that, I loooooooooooove chocolate!!! Mmmmmmmmm. I could live on Godiva dark chocolates and Ben and Jerry's chocolate fudge brownie ice cream... and half and half.

Yeah, it was a HUUUUGE lifestyle change. :D

In this I totally differ with Dennis Prager who insists he will eventually
travel in every country on earth.I think he's already been to every European
Country. Some more than a couple times.I think that's the height or stupidity.
You are gambling with yer very life.
Prager also brags about not knowing how to fix a meal.Again ...
really stupid.I doubt he knows how to run a trout line or skin a buck.
That's Totally a 50's/60's mindset where those with money
can afford to travel and be waited on.I refuse to be waited on.
You go travelling and yer at the mercy of others.Like in a Hospital.
I cannot live that even for 5 minutes.I like Prager but don't respect him
because he's what I consider a Soft Cushy Jew.Those are the kinda folk
who are THE Last people on Earth who are of any help in an Emergency.
They rely almost exclusively on others { Friends,Colleagues,Lawyers,
Doctors } when things go bad. What's a Prager gonna do in an Emergency.
get on the phone for help.Play some name game and use Gelt as
    leverage.

I don't eat out that much because the food is way too salty for my taste, and often too greasy/oily too. I still eat processed food but I just drop the portion sizes and up the portions of other things. I used to work out a lot and bulked up and it just became pointless so I have spent the last couple years toning down back toward my more natural frame without sending too much of a shock through the system. I am down about 30 pounds and will maybe work my way down another 5 or ten which will put me near my senior year of high school weight.

    I really dig anchovy's.Especially on Pizza.But I don't order Pizzas.
And my old man used to put anchovy in his salad. But they are very
salty. My old man liked his salt. But he didn't suffer high blood pressure.
Probably because he never went to the doctor.Because Our Mom,
went religiously to her Doctor{s}.My old man thought it Dopey.
She did have high blood pressure.A little sodium is not harmful.
But it does restrict blood vessels.

I've been reading ingredients labels for the last 35 years or more.
Way before it was popular.Processed cold cuts will affect you.
But there are plenty of good cold cuts that are not TOO processed.
I no longer buy stuff like good salami or even Mortadella.because it's
all kinda unhealthy.Wall Mart carries sliced Atlantic Salmon.
It's Nova Salmon and smoked. From Vita.
It is delicious. It's full of Omega-3 fatty acids which are healthy.
You simply toast yer favorite bread and put it on top.Or smear
some topping like Mayo.It has a taste similar to thinly sliced quality
    salami.

I hear what you're saying, but I think there is a value in travel that is overlooked at least in this post you've expressed. It has been my experience that the cumulative value of traveling to places that are different is that I've become more compassionate. The more I've seen, the more I've been able to see our commonality even with vast chasms between us; wealth, lifestyle, daily life, needs, happiness, and sometimes suffering. I make a strong delineation between travel and tourism. I'm not really interested in tourism personally. I've traveled for a variety of reasons, but the most challenging times out are usually the ones that I think about the most; experiences that made me better as a person.

Where are you from? What is the last foreign country you visited? Favorite?
