So are going to talk about politics here? Because I would point out that back in the day, the network news was nonprofit. We saw rags like Fox emerge when news became FOR profit.

Before they were for profit, the networks provided the news as a public duty in return for use of the airwaves.

 

You think ABC, CBS, and NBC were non-profits?

Fallows commenting on the "news" before Fox. The NYT has always been a Fake News rag.

You only saw rags like Fox emerge when news became for profit. And then Fox discovered that hate and bs brainwashing makes far more money than facts.

I was a Republican back then and watched it destroy the party.

Newspapers were historically independently owned and had their own bias according to the owners. The Hearst empire for example... The NY Times has done a lot of great journalism but they have their low points as well. It is impossible to make any news agency completely objective. They are left-leaning but hardly fake news.

That is just your brainwashing talking.

Hiya Daise. Eye doc appt this morning. New health ins kicks in Mon, so Ive had a doc appt every Fri this month (before new deductible). Ear doc, ortho doc, primary doc, now eyes. Arghhhh. Then shopping for 'supportive shoes' that arent too ugly. Foot doc said I can wear my pretty sandals and show off my pedicure AFTER work, but need good running shoes to wear every day. Bah humbug. Going to start with New Balance and go from there. Any suggestions?

 

Kid's last baseball game tonight. Tomorrow, the lovely Mrs Texan and myself are chaperoning at a masquerade ball for the school band. My freshman kid is taking a senior.

 

Those are the girthiest okra pods I have ever seen

 

Its a real drink from a restaurant I frequent. Never had one, but theyre popular for Sunday brunch. Most times couples share one.
