    .
Sinatra was a part of music moving from the Big Band sound to putting focus on the vocals. He had great vocal timing and phrasing for the time. Come on Foolie.
A baritone with phrasing style and timing that has been copied in one way or another since.
Oatmeal is overrated. Not Sinatra. He deserves credit in his own right, in my opinion.

That's one of my favorite songs. But it rhymes better if you substitute "L.A." for "New York" in it.

I think he wrote it for L.A. then changed the name to N.Y.

It goes well in certain cocktails. But then Cocktails have more than one
ingredient. The more the Ingredients the more trouble yer facin.
That's what Real Alchy's stick to what they know best.
Winos a certain type wine.Hardcore boozers a certain type
whisky or any vodka or gin.
Now a Lush will drink most anything.Do not party around a lush.
Just watching them drink can cause one to puke.
I remember going out one night with my buddy to a Party and he
brought around this kid.A really cocky black guy.I watched him at the party
and he made like real friendly around guys willing to mix a drink or give him
a beer.He musta tried half a dozen cocktails and half a dozen different
beer.He never flinched. When we got back to my buddy's house { his dad
and mom were away for the weekend } this Black dude went right for the
fridge. He took out a large jar of olives w/pimentos and I think finished off
the entire jar.The kicker is what he said on the phone to this chick he
got her number from at the party. He was talkin' real dirty to this chick.
I remember she was from the West Side of Cleveland.Totally different from
    Chicks from the East side.
I'll never forget what he told this chick about a half dozen times.
" I'm so horny I could dig holes with my pecker in that backyard garden
I'm staring at right now. " I swear ta God.
I wasn't used to guys talking like that to gals.Still ain't.
But my goal is to be a Dirty Old man ... sometime soon.

I have a couple Caruso CD's.They sound scratchy because that is
how they recorded back in the days of Victrolas.
Caruso used real simple accompaniment.Just a simple
small circus piano in both my CD.Plus the virile bel canto style of
    Opera.

A friend of mine studied opera for many years and sang professionally at one point. What an amazing voice but to make it big you have to be super exceptional. Its a very hard field to break into. You talk to her she sounds regular. She sings its a stunning moment.

She sang this at my moms church service. My mom had asked before she passed away if I would ask her to sing this at church for her. Mom and I never could make it through Ave Maria without crying in church. She always had two tissues handy. When the organ started playing in church and I heard her voice it was a moment frozen. I cant hardly describe it. Opera singers are a whole different category of singers for sure.

opera seems to be pure or mostly emotion, which is good. certainly an Italian thing. music is the pursuit of perfection, every kind is equally good to me.
