I have been making my own home made fish tacos from frozen tilapia and green salsa verde sauce.

There are not a lot of good Mexican restaurants in the Rocky Mountains unfortunately.

You need to go to California or Texas for that.

Of the two, I prefer Texas of course.

Freedom always is better than Communism.

 

My cat would never bring me a beer.

But he brings me lots of other things and if worse came to worse he could feed us both.

 

There is no substitute for a good teacher. These days the best ones often homeschool their own children.

 

No smart woman has ever loved me though.

So it would not work.

I would need to stick with Catholic private schools for kids.

 

Your fish taco with chile verde recipe was very good.

 

That's basically all that fish tacos are -- a flour or corn tortilla shell & some white fish & salsa verde.

Cabo fish tacos are on corn tortillas.

Guadalajara fish tacos are on flour ones.

 

I suspect that many of them have deteriorated by now. The church is not entirely immune from the popular culture. It is a buffer.

 

The reduction of the chile verde was the the new trick for me.

 

Yup exactly. I did it first to warm it up but discovered that it also concentrates the flavor too.

Same is true of pure maple syrup for pancakes and waffles too.

But it does not work with fake maple syrup.

 

Works with brown sugar and water too if you can't afford the pure maple syrup. Sometimes I like it better than maple syrup - very different taste.

Freedom may be, but the Mexican food is better in Southern California. Actually, the best Mexican food I have had is in Henderson, Nevada. You know, one of those fast food places-- carne asada burritos, enchaladas, Delicious.

 

You can't get those at Long John Silvers?

Or other fine restaurants?

The best Mexican food I've had is in Mexico.

Seriously. Most of the best breakfasts I've had were in Mexico. A single exception being in Hawaii eating scrambled eggs, Portuguese sausage and rice....at McDonald's of all places. When my wife went there with her best friend last month, she tried it and agreed.

Back on Mexico, I love spicy and as a frequent traveler to Mexico, have come to enjoy everything they've had on the menu or buffet table.

 

Yes yes, the best is in Mexico. I visited the Baja and ate my way up, or down, the coast. Great Mexican food along the streets, actually
on the back streets. and I didn't get dia of the rear.

 

'If you can't beat them join them' can work - so long as the war is really over.

Naturally theres a hurricane in the gulf. Nate. Not a big guy, but first predicted to go toward FL, now its New Orleans. Not leaving til Saturday, so will know more by then. Guess it wouldnt hurt to have a Plan B.

 

Trust me, I don't actually get 'in' the ocean, but enjoy watching it from my balcony or walking on the beach. All my splish spashing is done at the pool.

Mountains are beautiful, except when I got altitude sickness in Vail. Not fun.

Next time spend a few days here in Denver to get acclimated before you head into the mountains.

 

Goat is quite tasty in Mexico with the various red sauces they put on it when serving.

This is the most exotic food I ever tried in Mexico. It was really good.

 

I like spearfishing.

I also like hunting.

This gives me more enjoyment out of the ocean and the mountains.
