Wife and I got back from Seattle last Thursday. Our Amtrak arrived late Tuesday night. Our hotel was in Pioneer Square, the heart of Old Seattle. We took one of the Underground City tours, then Ubered to the Space Needle then took the Monorail to Pike Park Marketplace, ate lunch and shopped around before walking back to the hotel. Late the next morning we caught a flight back to DFW.

    The thing in the photo.

It was built for the 1962 World's Fair.

If you use a space needle and super strings you can fix a tear in space-time.

Before the welfare state jobs generated income (money) which empowered workers to buy things to fill many of their needs and desires - bread, shelter, clothing... - candy, Twinkies, entertainment, jewelry, Harley Sportsters... . Jobs were good.

The value of labor is discounted when food, shelter, clothing, Twinkies ... are all provided by the welfare state.
Which was probably what motivated the creation of the welfare state.

Decent hats are hard to come by these days. You have to go to a big city, if you want something other than a generic, made-in-China hat or baseball cap.

Prostitutes do it for money. Welfare don't pay like that.

I have a variety of hats including fedoras, cowboy and, of course, ball caps. Ball caps are the most useful and versatile IMO due to low cost and functionality. For mowing my two acres sometimes I wear a a shemagh.

All free labor works for the things money can buy. Work is good - just lie back and enjoy it. :)

First the Space Needle and then Starbucks and finally $15 an hour minimum wage. Way to go Seattle! One out of three.

My boonie hats are probably made in China.

I have a police blue one and two khaki desert ones.

They still fit and work great for me.
