I normally eat 1 or 2 bananas per day -- which prevents the runs.

Bananas also provide just enough fiber to prevent the bricks as well -- that's where it is like a brick and really hurts to dump it.

I have also found that viruses cannot survive massive doses of pure ethanol (as in moonshine).

Flu shots to prevent flu and Zicam is the best thing going for colds. If you really have the flu it is probably too late to take a flu shot.

I got the flu shot already -- back in October.

It did not work for me this year apparently.

Last year it apparently worked but not this year.

I broiled another roast of beef a few days ago and now I have enough meat for 3 more days.

I shaved some meat off it from the fridge for beef vegie noodle soup for dinner. Went well with the orange juice.

Hospitals are the germiest places you can be. Do you use hand sanitizer frequently? Guess a mask would be inappropriate, huh. ;)

Wishing you all a Happy New Year ...

And I wish to make a toast to those who serve, and to those who have served.

Fiber is our friend. I would assume that you got the flu shot - now they say it is was dud. You seem to have proved it.
    Hope you recover quickly.

This year's shot is only 10% effective with the worst strain going around.

They are awful and people that go to the ER think their germs are confined only to them. It is best to find a seat far away and not touch anything...

Yeah I came down with a cold yesterday. On top of a bad tooth.
That tooth has been touchy the last few months. And yesterday I noticed
it was loose.Like I dint seem to notice a few months ago.But it started
aching and it did that a few months ago.
Then last night I went to bed early on account of hacking.
I kept thinking.Ok How and where did I catch a cold.I take supplements
every day.a 500 mg. of Ester C and other stuff. My cough comes and goes
    and I just pulled out the tooth like Nick Nolte did in - Affliction - { 1995 }
With a pair of plyers. Not big ones used on the Farm like Nolte.
The tooth was real loose and I got to bleed yesterday but figured I could
salvage it.Because I did a few months ago.I think I may have flossed
too much.Weakened the side of the tooth. But it's out and didn't bleed too
bad.I nipped it in the bud right quick. With a mixture of water and vodka
swishing and Q-tips.Then for both my sore throat and hacking warm lemmon
water. But I'm backing to hacking again.
Got some childrens cough liquid w/expectotant.Had to get carded for even that.
    Plus Ricolta cough drops.
Now who wishes me a speedy recovery.

Quiz from yesterday. That guy from TMZ { Jewish lawyer } did a
lengthy interview with Shack { Shaquille O'Neal } and it was kinda
neat.Guess how tall Shack was in the 2nd grade. That is when he started
getting picked on in school.Plus he was a slow leaner because he was
shy and didn't like being called on in class due to all the names he
was handed. So he said he decided to be a Bully.Either be a bully and
not get teased so much or Not be a bully and get dogged.

Everything's good. I'll have internet access for 2 more days which I'm pumped about. Been visiting family over the past 5 days which is more tiring than training.

Day #3 for me and I'm still sick.

Been sleeping 42 hours nonstop, waking only for soup and orange juice.

Almost out of groceries now so going shopping and running errands then coming home and going back to bed.

Yup some of the symptoms that I have were reported by the patients coming in and passing my podium --

    - splitting sinus headache

    - weakness

    - dizziness

I myself would never run to the doctor or hospital for such things, I would just go to bed and sleep it off, which is what I am doing now.

We had a few very elderly patients in their 80's and 90's who needed I/V's since they were dehydrated and could not keep anything down not even water. In that case after about 2 days it is definitely a good idea to go to a hospital and get an I/V.

Other patients reported difficulty breathing. These were put onto oxygen until they felt better. This is another good reason to visit a hospital -- they can give you oxygen.

Eventually your body will beat the virus, but in the case of severe dehydration or oxygen depletion you do need to get to a hospital. I don't have either of those issues fortunately.

My noodle soup and orange juice stays down fine, and I can breathe ok too.

I just need to sleep another couple of days or so.

24 hours is usually the shortest flu, which most people would call a "cold" or some other virus. It may or may not be influenza virus.

3 days seems the next most common. That's where I am now. Tomorrow will be day #4.

1 week is usually a very severe virus like the pandemic back in 2009.

And some people stay sick as long as 2 weeks before they finally get over it, or die.
