I prefer white wines usually. Moscato or a Riesling.

I have about four acres split into four pastures. I rotate pastures every few months. This year i am placing the little ones and their mommas on a separate pasture. We have four new little ones this year. We lost one baby....the baby was too big for the mom. Mom survived.

Hangover territory.Sweet wines are.I remember when on a tour of
Europe in the mid-80's the tour bus was loaded with mostly southerners.
The Tour guide was from Vienna { was an attorney also } and extremely
knowledgable about his territory.Every little hamlet we drove thru he
    explained their complete history.
I remember when we got to the Rhineland and visited a small
Winery right off the river someone mentioned Blue Nun wine.
Which was Very popular back in the states. He made a really weizenheimer
crack like ... well if you don't mind drinking engine coolant and the hangover,
    I guess you'd be OK.

I usually dont get a hangover. But i find that a high alcohol content takes away from the taste of wine. We do have some very nice Muscidine wines here in the south. These are my favorite red wines. I am not a wine snob. Usually the more expensive a wine is the less i like it....and please...no oaked wine.

I have not had the flu this year - probably because of my healthy routines or my pure heart. ;-)

Barrel aging is key to any good wine. Also bourbon.
No barrel and the wine suffers exponentially.
The better the barrel the better the result. Some cognacs
use certain hardwood that is exclusive to one territory of'
France.I see where some Bourbons are using older cognac
barrels that were past their prime.Imparting a slightly sweeter
and woodsy flavor.Unless you want yer Liquor to reek of stuff
women adore ... Like Strawberries or Cherries.
Of course the more savvy the gal the more they tend to drink like
Bette Davis { - Whatever Happened to Baby Jane - } or a Talullah
Bankhead.Greta Garbo had her daily shot of Scotch.
Joan Crawford ended her days consistently soused in Vodka.
One { especially a Male } did not to want to impugn the toughness
of a Bankhead,or Davis or Crawford when drinking.

I dont like oaked wines. Especially if you consider that most so-called oaked wines just have oak sawdust added to stainless steel barrels. I like what i like and calling what i like girlish is not going to change my mind. I also find the more expensive a wine is the nastier it tastes. I would much rather drink something i like rather than being a pretentious snob and drinking a nasty bottle of sour grapes.

    LOL
I shovel snow and enjoy it. Its a pleasure because I know how to enjoy life to the fullest.
I buy beer and space out how far I want to shovel based on how far I stick the bottles apart from each other in the snow. I set goals and reach them. That's important in life.

Alright people of the strange brews.....I made it home in one piece. 10 inches of snow and we still have more coming down. They say it will quit around noon. Giving up a foot of snow.

Then more tonight with 1-3 inches for Saturday. Then a dusting to an inch Sunday.

Is it okay to dump Old Man Winter in a pool of Liquid Magma?

    Ok picture this snow scene.

Snow falling like being in a snow globe. Its so quiet and calm. The sky is that orange/brown color all lite up. A fire in the fireplace. Homemade manicotti in the oven with brazole and meatballs in gravy on the stove. A bottle of wine and two wine glasses. The doorbell rings. Your heart races and you try not to run to the door. You stroll all cool like. You open the door and that person you waited all day for looks deep into your eyes and says, your cable is working now. Sign this and Im out of here.
