I dunno. There's something about that music that is too somethin'.
    Too Rebel Yell.
I don't cotton stuff that is too One anything.
Like I wrote earlier.Like Ted Nugent music.
I wouldn't go to a Nugent concert if I got free tickets
and was give a thousand bucks to sit thru the damn concert.
His music sucks. It's just a bunch of trying to act like rock stars.
Good Rock music needs simple yet tuneful lyrics and a great
beat and really jazzy guitar licks.
Like Allman Bros. : - Blue Sky -

Plato, as opposed to many other philosophers, is actually very easy to read. I read the account of Socrates' defense at his trial when I was in the 4th grade. I realized that anyone hearing his defense would be instantly and personally offended by his show of 'humility'. As a kid I was not distracted by the trumped up charges his enemies crafted to take him down.

The Socrates defense: 'I know you all think I am an insufferable smart ass, but I freely admit I am really just an ignorant fool. So, like, have mercy - okay?
Oh, BTW, as stupid as I am, you - my jury - are like way way dumber.

Have read all of the dialogues since then. He had repeatedly publicly humiliated many of his students in that manner at every opportunity. Many of them were or became very powerful and hated his guts.

a famous and intelligent jewish man once said:

"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

he invented the science for the nuclear bomb, which allowed America to save europe from the nazi's.

I think Socrates has one major shortfall -- reverence.

Whether the Greek gods are real or not, they should be revered if you are Greek.

Ironically most major religions have had a trinity of gods at its head, whether in Greece (Zeus, Poseidon, Hades), India (Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva) or the Vatican (Patris, Fili, Spiritus Sancti).

it was not a shortfall, Socrates could not revere the kings and queens of england.

the commies must be defeated by freedom thinkers before they can be defeated by freedom fighters.

the rich founding fathers of America were freedom thinkers, and the poor Christian peasants who sacrificed against england were the freedom fighters.

Ultimately they all have to address the 'prime mover unmoved' thing.

If any peasants managed to get to America they did not stay peasants very long - too easy to run away from the land lord.

    Yup exactly!

In ancient times the movement of the planets, comets, moon, and sun were the greatest clue about a Prime Mover. Aristotle probably got that from Plato, who got it from Socrates.

Even San Tomas Aquinas got it too.

Not really. Many a European Gypsy made it to America and
lived off the land.Basically being thieves, con artist and temporary
    squatters.
As profiled in - King of the Gypsies - { 1978 } a very good Gypsy movie.
    And Stephen King's - Thinner - { 1996 } also one of King's
    best adaptation to screen.
Gypsies are their own worst enemy.Because they Live the Life.
They are recalcitrant as far as most any measure of assimilation.
They are Tribe oriented.Like those small enclaves in Big City known
as Little Italy or Chinatown.Same basic principle except Gypsy are
Nomads. They refuse to cooperate in the least.Meaning they can't
legally own a home or even be a renter.Like I say ... they Life the Life.
The life of being Nomads and outcasts. But crafty enough to survive
and live off the fat of other's naivete.

Back when I was a kid a caravan of gypsies came through my home town every summer. They did all sorts of home repair, but their specialty was painting houses. The paint usually started peeling a couple of weeks after they left town. I guess you're wondering how they pulled off this scam year after year. I'm not sure, but I'm guessing the price was too good to pass up.

One year a neighbor who wasn't too bright ran off with them. About three months later he came home 30 pounds lighter. They worked him like a dog and fed him table scraps. I guess my advice to everyone would be to not run off with the gypsies, even though their vagabond life style may seem exciting.

The old Gypsy curse ... eh.
    Like in - Thinner - { 1996 }
Gypsy are just slobs w/o a home by choice.
I nearly had my wallet stolen by a band of gypsies
as my bus tour crossed the English channel. We were warned
about them gypsies by our tour guide. That at night it was
particularly a problem.I crossed by ship during daylight.
As we were departing and there was a large group bundled
together { about a couple hundred } there was a distraction
in a small corner.A group of girls { young teens } were acting up
and prancing and acting silly.Later I learned this was a gypsy
technique. As a distraction so Gypsy pickpockets could sneak yer
wallet in a large crowd departing. It happened to me.
I was in a group with passengers all around me departing.
The crowd was moving slowly all bundled together.I felt something
in my back pocket.I thought it strange since both my hands were
tightly clutching my tour bag.I turned around to see a few obvious gypsy
men behind me giving me the evil eye.
Here's what happened.I had lunch on this ship crossing the English
channel with my Mom and my Aunt.I made the mistake of putting my
American Express Gold Card on the table after the lunch for the waitress
to use as payment.I wasn't thinking. The dining table nearest us had
some very out of place { they weren't part of our Tour } people.
They were dressed funny. Not like Tourist. But like Gypsy.
    These funny dressed people { I came to learn were gypsies }
and they were on the ship to steal stuff from tourist.
If it wasn't for the luck I put my wallet in by small tour bag
which I was clutching with both hands, some Gypsy behind me
would have snatched my wallet.Because at first I didn't realize it.
It felt like a hand was in my back pocket. But both my hands were
clutching my tour bag as we slowly waited to get off the ship and go
thru customs. When I felt that hand in my back pocket I thought ...
what gives.I quickly turned around and saw a really Big Red haired
guy standing far back and starring right at me.But it was the Gypsy
with the funny small hat, right behind me.
That gypsy and his girlfriend followed me all the way off the ship and
in line for the customs checkpoint. They eventually walked out of the
customs line. They were after my wallet with the American express
    Gold Card.They almost snagged it.

hitler did not like the gypsies either, they were the second or third highest victims of his christian socialist cleansing.

America tolerates undesirables because christian capitalism makes use of the least savage among them as slaves, under the threat of the whip.

some of the rebellious 'jews' cannot be trained and civilised by the whip, and must be caged and neutered by lawful government force if they survive.

no wrong again, the prime movers of human existence are born on the equinox.

this is the moment when preparation meets opportunity, and the wolves can feed on the sheep without consequence.

every generation after this generation of wolves serves them and their interests, or gets eaten too.
