Sounds to me like a certain someone hasn't be paying attention to
warning labels about Non-GMO food.GMO harvested food look
bigger and prettier. But inside they have the attitude of fish fertilizer.
And one's body eventually reaps the badness. It may take time or it
    may not.
I guess one needs a Ph.D to fully understand Facebook ... eh.
    Or attend Harvard.
    Like Sooooo.......... NOT !

Just like FB, gmo isnt all bad. Many altered fruits and vegetables are now more drought/freeze and insect resistant. An ex employer made grants to Texas A&M to develop Rio Red grapefruits in the Rio Grande valley. Juicier and sweeter than your avg grapefruit, theyre delish. And crop yield has been tripled.

No gmo fish or animals for me, but fruits and veggies are a different matter.

You do realize, meat sources and fish sources are the product of what they are fed, and you are the end user?

I avoid GMO as best I can. If it can't occur in nature, then chances are it shouldn't be consumed. IMO, if I'm going to eat it, then I have a right to know what's in it.

Don't want to drag this off into political stuff, but there is more to GMO and our friends at Monsanto then most want to know.......

That must have been a pretty good weekend then, if you are still hung over by Tuesday.

    I like those cleansing experiences.

Alcohol kills everything bad in your body.

Humanity has changed fruits and vegetables since time began. That is why we have so many choices of what to eat, now people come along and say don't eat that it is horrible for you. I would rather believe what is fed to animals do much more harm than some GMO seed. I try to buy organic when I can and grow heirloom veggies because IMO they taste better.

Usually, the worm won't eat all of the corn ear and you can cut off where he was eating. The corn is now safe to cook and eat. Tomato hornworms are what I hate I spend a lot of time trying to spot them and pull them off my tomato plants. They can demolish a tomato plant in no time at all.

Hybridization, which is just assisting nature in something that could happen anyway, is a whole lot different then genetic engineering. I'll leave it at that, since Smartie's bar isn't the place for this.

    100% agree!

Chickens like hornworms, so to complete the cycle, feed the worm to the chicken and collect the egg. But yeah, hornworms suck! Gotta follow their poop trail to find them. Hard to spot.

If I ever get some good land, I'll plant fruit trees, and tomatoes, and squash, and potatoes.

Corn is easy to get at the market. And it takes up a lot of space.

I think you're pretty much spot on with your comments. As a newcomer here, relatively speaking, I've noticed that some of the regulars have a tendency to post conspiracy theories ripped straight from the innards of WorldNetDaily and other not so fine sources. Yes, it's a free country. And yes, they're entitled to their opinions.

And I'm entitled to move down to the other end of the bar when things get weird.

I planted some GMO sweet corn last year as an experiment. The corn was fantastic. No worms, no weeding, and two pretty ears per stalk. I just sprayed, fertilized and harvested. It was the best corn harvest ever.

Yer not paying attention.GMO plants, veggies are bigger and
have a better appearance.Because thev've had their DNA changed.
But that comes at a price. The way it reacts once consumed.
Far greater chance of cancers and allergies. The studies have been
done.It took a long time for GMO studies to be released.
That is why there are GMO warning on many food products.
Because a steady diet of GMO has a track record of causing many
health problems.Like an Athlete who takes too many steroids.

Do you have any proof? Is there any evidence of a GMO causing health problems other than hearsay?

The corn you get at the market could be days old before you get it, fresh corn is worth the work and space it takes up in a garden. Growing your own food is worth the time and effort it takes.
You can grow container veggies or build a tiered planter to plant vegetables in small areas.

Which is a somewhat good analogy. In winter it used to be
hothouse { grown indoor } tomatoes were the only variety
available. The reason I know this Fer sure.like totally is my
Mom { Taught Home economics once } insisited we have a slice
of tomato every single day. They had poor color and were harder
{ not very juicy } and tasted often mushy.Like what you'd consider
a bad tomato.Whereas in late summer when the Beefsteak tomatoes
came out my Dad especially ate them practically for breakfast they were
    so great.
Think of it this way.Today's GMO tomatoes have that great
Beefeater look, color and size. And they taste pretty good. But being
Organically modified by changing the internal DNA of a normal
Non-GMO tomato we know the risks. The way it effects our bodies
when metabolized.GMO Effect the metabolizing process whereas
    a Non-GMO tomato does not.Depending on the person,of course.
I happen to be somewhat sensitive to Gluten.Whenever I eat
a bread of pie that has gluten I end up with a slight sneezing attack.
It doesn't last long but it can be loud.
Just like Dogs don't need to eat veggies because they produce their
    own Vitamin C.
Which is why my Mom insisted we eat a tomato or slice of tomato
each day.To get our Vitamin C.
