Srsly, men do tend to be more creative in their cooking. Guess thats why they make good chefs.

in the good ole days women used to cook with organic foods that were not genetically modified from ethical farmers.

guys were gone for 8 hours a day, and a 40 hour work week supported the entire family comfortably.

the ladies back then cooked great meals, healthy, and tasty.

We are having breakfast for supper and I'm about to cook the eggs. I think I'll stick to minced onion, pepper, cheddar cheese, and a dash of steak seasoning.

I don't get any complaints about food I cook.

I had a neighbor whose husband said the meal wasn't fit for the dogs. She picked up the food and tossed it in the backyard and said, "Let the dogs eat it." According to her, there were no more complaints about her cooking.

I have heard about egg and olive salad, but never scramble eggs and crushed olives.

I'm not positive about this but olives are supposed to be healthy.
They are part of a Mediterranean diet and are very popular in places
like Greece.I always get an olive antipasto when I go Krogering at
by special Krogers.I get 2 or three kinds of olives { Big Green blue cheese
stuffed olives and of course Kalamata } Also sun-dried tomatoes.
Artichokes if they look good.I also use sun-dried basil spread w/cheese.
Put that on nice toasted bread with a good cheese and sliced olives
    and sun-dried tomatoes.Better than Pizza,if done right.
    That is for an appetizer.

Try crushing some green olives with your potato masher, then add a couple of eggs, then fry it in butter. You'll love it !!

Olives would overpower the egg flavor, no?
So would Kippers. Just saw that yesterday. Sunny side up egg, toast and Kippers. I have to think about that for a while.

No run for me this morning. I overslept and now I am actually too lazy to move. Go figure.

I had grouper once for breakfast. I was staying at a motel, the owner of the motel invited me for brunch. She wrapped the piece of fish in cheesecloth, droppedit in boiling water till it was done. She served it with grits and old sour. It was an island dish nothing unusual there. The recipe for old sour is two cups of Key lime juice and a tablespoon of salt. Bottle it and keep it for about two months in a dark place and it is ready to go. You can serve it on fish or just about anything.

One order coming up. How do you pickle a herring? In Florida we salt mullet and if you don't like salt you will hate it.

I like smoked mullet but the best way is fried mullet. Mullet has to be super fresh, like caught and cooked the same day especially mullet. Nothing better than a fresh mullet. My mother and father use to drive to the coast to buy fresh mullet off the boats.

We had it at Crystal River. Fresh caught and smoked. When we go again, I'll buy some fresh and try it. We have a plug in cooler and bring lots of ice. That should be ok, don't you think?

I thought the same till I tried it. I wasn't crazy about Key LIme Pie either, now I love both.

To say the least it was an adventure in eating. I had old sour later on but never boiled grouper . One Island lady made what she called crab shala and she used grouper throats along with crabs to make a wonderful stew.
You can find old sour in the Keys.

The fall is the best time to get mullet, make sure the mullet are fresh, don't buy mullet with cloudy or sunken eyes, the eyes have to be very clear and no cloudy spots. The fish market has to smell clean no fishy smell. If the fish market has a fishy smell avoid it.
