Beautiful flowers! At the Rainforest at Moody Gardens, I was more drawn to the flowers than the smelly creatures! ;)

My Father loved hibiscus, and he was always experimenting with plants. I wish I had paid more attention to all of his talents with plants.

Of course. That's Kora. She has a little girl we named Shirley Temple. She is gray and black with a black spot on each side of her mouth that look like dimples. IMG_20170319_134643261.jpg Thats Shirley. You have seen her before. She has grown some and loves to run.

We had hibiscus hedges outside our condo in Hawaii. Every morning I picked a new bloom to wear over my ear. Never could remember if it was left ear if you're a virgin or right ear.... so I switched from day to day. Keep em guessin! ;)

I am sure they wanted you either way. I have some hardy hibiscus coming along that I grow from seed. Even some Texas Star. Not blooming yet.

Cant wait for those pics! Ive grown a few in pots successfully, but they never last more than one season. About as long as my attention span.

Well for a week. Frankly I could go back when I wish to.

By the way, you can rent it by the week if you want to. Privately I would tell you the costs.

Sounds wonderful. I was an airline employee when I made 4 trips to Hawaii, mostly Maui. Longest stay was 10 days and still didnt wanna leave. I prefer to stay closer to home these days, but sure enjoyed the travel while it lasted. Never met an island I didnt like!

I flew two legs to Kauai, and two back. Return from Kauai to Maui for over an hour wait.

I was asking at Kauai what those gorgeous red flower trees were. My daughter explained they are Hibiscus. This is what got me started talking of that super house.

My bedroom there. Frankly I did not like the bed.

My stepdaughter arranged it all. I had plenty of room in that shower.

it is 2 thousand dollars for poor classes to fly to hawaii from the east coast, do you know any secrets to get a good first class trip at low cost?

it is a long flight too, think 18 hours with the time changes of all the zones.

Get a Capital One Venture card make big purchases, and you will be on your way in no time. Get your air miles, man. Discover card will give you money back for purchases, which could be your spending money. The one drawback would be you have to pay them off each month, to keep from being credit card weak. You could always buy your groceries, utilities, and necessities that you pay cash for and pay the card as you go. Just a suggestion.

When the cold weather would come, the hibiscus and bougainvilleas were the main plants that got protected. My father had a Turk's cap hedge that was the only thing in the hibiscus family that didn't get special treatment. He would just cut it back, and it bushed out again in the spring. People were always asking him to root them bougainvilleas. He had a bougainvillea that was huge it was purple, it was his pride and joy.
Hibiscus, cotton, and okra are a bit related.

Good morning good folks. I'll have my tequila and some of the flowers on that lanai with that gorgeous view. After one of two drinks, who cares how much it costs.
Goats are so cute. The neighbor at the former abode had some across the street.

I want some goats, and so does my border collie. He practices herding the cat, and that just doesn't work too well. He runs back and forth in front of the cat trying to herd him the way he wants him to go. The pup is needing a job.

Listen to the pup and get some goats then. You learn how to milk 'em (although you probably already know how). Then you can make goat cheese and goats milk soap and send me some.

I am having scrambled eggs with cheese and crushed olives again on fried flour tortillas again.

    Love this for breakfast !!

Yesterday I had just bacon on the tortillas.

These are my two most favorite breakfasts.

I was taken to a restaurant at Lihue that seems to me to have the world's tallest burgers.

I used my knife to make it into bite sized portions. I don't recall any patron trying to haul that enormous burger up to their mouth to try to bite into it.

If you like great beers to drink with a huge sandwich, check this out.

Its true, anything on a tortilla makes it a meal! I prefer corn tortillas, but will do flour in a pinch. Two things I wont do is black bean or fish tacos. Yuck.
