Not now nor ever to be confused or conflated with Miss Smarty's
annual Christmas Divnity concoction. One batch sufficient to carry
a crowd of merry makers all thru the season.Or so legend holds.

My Rose wasn't a knock out but she was looker. She wore glasses and had that hot nerdy girl thing going for her. We both worked for a medical company and she was originally hired as a receptionist for the main lobby. She had my number from the moment we met. I walked in, told her my name, and said I was going to visit Terry, my boss. She looked me up and said she couldn't allow me in, that I didn't have an appointment. I don't need an appointment. I come and go all the time. No, I'm sorry, she replied, I can't allow you in. At this point I was getting a little annoyed with this new receptionist! I again explained that I come and go all the time and not to worry. Just buzz Terry is you're really worried about. Again I get a brick wall - no, I can't allow you to enter.

Now she was starting to piss me off and I was getting a little testy. I said something about respecting her position but I need to do my job. She came back with some kind passive-aggressive comment. About the time I demanded that she call Terry or I will, she started laughing and told me to go on in. LOL! That little btch was screwing with me the entire time! I liked that and asked her out. She immediately accepted. It took a few weeks but as I said, we ended up dating for a year and it got pretty serious.

Coming full circle in my life, one day Rose said she needed to tell me something. So we sat down and she proceeded to tell me about a very difficult time in her life some years ago. She went on to tell me that she had worked as a call girl for a time. Honestly, I wasn't even sure what that was. I had heard of call girls and knew it had something to do with prostitution, but that's about it. I could tell it was a big deal for her and she looked worried. I told her I didn't care what happened in the past. It made her the person I fell in love with.

She went on to tell me more about her life in those years. I couldn't really blame her given the money she made. And she never had any bad experiences. She was just worried it might be a death sentence for our relationship. But it really had no effect on me. I knew what kind of person she was.

That sort of blew me away when I thought back on that. I guess I've always been attracted to women who are willing to explore the wild side. And we had the best sex life I've ever had with any woman. I can remember spending most of a week in bed just screwing all day. We'd get up and eat, or shower or whatever, and go back to bed. We just couldn't stop! Right up to the very end, our relationship was one big sex fest.

Did some mass hiring in Ft Lauderdale once and thats when I learned nearly all Haitian women are named Rose. They also tend to use their kids or grandkids' SS #'s, but thats another story.

When asked to choose an American name, 9 outta 10 Haitian women choose Rose. Go figger. ;)

I can still remember a few of Dean Martin's Uncle's Vaudeville lines: My wife is so skinny that she has to run back and forth in the shower, just to get wet! She has to wear boots or she'd fall through the drain.

I was wondering why and quickly found that mail-order brides from Haiti are called Rose Brides. But then it turned out that Rose Brides is the name of a mail-order bride website, not just for Haitian women.

Rosaline is one of the most common Haitian names for women. Dunno.

Began singing in night spots in his hometown of Steubenville,O.

I was never really a fan but it sure brings back memories.

While growing up, my best friend was Mexican. I can even still spell his last name - Moczygemba. They had it on their welcome mat and I saw it half a dozen times a day, :D

His mother was always cooking up all sorts of great traditional Mexican food. She would even send stuff over for our family to eat for dinner, from time to time; esp when my mother was pregnant. I absolutely loved all of it! I was eating menudo for several years before they would tell me what was in it, and what that was. :D

And I will tell you a secret: The best tacos I've ever had, were tripe tacos. OMG those are incredible!!! I used to venture deep into gangland just to get tripe tacos from this hole-in-the-wall that made the best Mexican food you could find anywhere. And you knew because the line around the block was filled with Mexicans. Cheap food too! Tripe tacos! Who woulda thunk. A buddy took me there and I was hooked.

Dad and I often had hot contests - who could eat the most or hottest peppers. We were definitely hardcore! To this day I can take straight shots of Tabasco without even noticing. But I don't eat Habaneros or other really hot peppers straight anymore. Got tired of fighting "fire in the hole!" the next morning. I really hurt myself a few times!

We had something like that at one place I worked back in HS - a fantastic steak house. The boss brought them in on the busiest days of the year. And they seemed to energize all of us! We flew and the numbers proved it. It was a specialty he had devised over many years of intense study. They are commonly known as hash brownies.

There's a *song Reba McEntire did that So Moved me I had
to buy her CD.Turned out it was a song in dedication to her
Father when he was dying.Drove me to tears,I like sad Drama
and Tear Jerkers.Because it brings out the Humanity in me.
I cannot cotton life w/o some deep inner displacement.
I think Life is most relevant when it can experience and relate
to sorrow.I never really bought into the notion that Life is bowl
of cherries.Life is living and then dying.Hopefully the Twain
are tolerant and forgiving. But no one gets out of life alive.

Trying not to be political. These are just the facts.

The horses roam wild. They are currently growing their herds.

When the political climate allows, the excess numbers are rounded up and placed in good homes.

During times of adverse political climate, the excess numbers starve to death.
