Yep and you know what? Coffee made on a one burner cooker sure tastes good. I had fogotten how good perked coffee on an open flame tasted.

Been planting some ryegrass in my old watermellon patch. It worked well last year. The goats graze during the cool months and when it warms up the annual ryegrass dies off and I have a garden spot for just about anything. When it is time I will cover the ground with spoiled hay and plant. The ryegrass puts the weight on my goats and the spring babies do well on it.

What else did you have with the clams?

    Any vegies?

    Any carbs?

    White wine? What kind?

My coffee pot is a classic percolator. It works on stovetops or on campfires. I got it at a camping store. It is the smallest size I could find and it makes about a pint of coffee presumably for 2 campers.

If I can get plenty of sleep then I don't need coffee though.

It's only when I have to get up really early after less than 8 or so hours of sleep that I need coffee.

My favorite is a dark roast infused with mocha of some kind.

"Call the man" is normally a good "philosophy".

I always prefer to hire experts to do things too, unless I know I can do as good or a better job myself.

For example, changing oil and oil filters in my car/SUV is something I can easily do myself, although often I don't have time and instead need to sleep so I use the Big O Tires shop down the street.

However this philosophy recently failed because I noticed they put in the wrong kind of motor oil even after I specifically told them what the tech manual for it says.

So sometimes "call the man" can be a faulty philosophy. I should have don't it myself.

I have found that electricity and natural gas are not my forte.

I would never buy a home with natural gas in it anywhere.

I prefer electricity -- less things to go wrong.

It would be a good philosophy to have a few space heaters around for in case the gas does not work.

And in case the gas and electricity does not work, it would be good to have at least one kerosene powered room heater as well, and a 5 gal can of kerosene.

Of course you need a backyard shed to store these kerosene units in. They are not really safe to store inside your home.

Every home or townhouse should have a backyard shed for the kerosene, gasoline, lawn mower, and the kerosene heater. Also rakes, shovels, trimmers, etc.

Please note that I have a kitty not a doggie.

I was adopted by the Cat World about 6 years ago and I have never turned back since.

Well fire season is over in the Western USA now. The former hurricane Rosa doused all the ongoing fires here. My neighbor who is a full time seasonal fire fighter is back from the wilderness now.

It is late hurricane season now, from which we usually only get heavy storms here, and those should end soon.

Pretty soon freezing rains and sleet and snowfall and avalanches will be the worry.

Mother Nature always has something to give you a bad day with.

I got a good day's sleep from 7 a.m. this morning when I got home and ate, to 2 p.m. eight hours later. My kitty slept by my side guarding me from any other kitties that might try to take his food provider away.

Now my evening routine will begin with dinner at 4 p.m., get ready at 5 p.m., and go to my next graveyard shift from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

I have chased away all the would-be thieves already so they have not been coming back lately since the client hired us.

Tonight will be another cold one. It has dipped below freezing each night for the past week now. Winter is coming early this year. Last year it was later in arriving.

My electric space heater and extra long heavy duty extension cord is what keeps me unfrozen during the nights now.

Last night I was visited by 2 raccoons and by 1 deer. Other than that, Smith and Wesson and Mossberg are my only friends at night.

The mosquitoes are now all dead or else their eggs and larvae are in hibernation underwater.

I love the winter but you need to dress warm for it with several layers of clothing. And you need some kind of heater.

Steamed them in white wine, I had some sour dough for dipping, she doesn’t do carbs or gluten.

I’ve been experimenting with water for making coffee. It is amazing how you can change a cup of coffee by manipulating the salts and minerals in the water. It’s total geekdom but WOW!

Almost that good here. We get along 99.9% of the time.
And even when we don't - that's just fine as too - eventually. ;-)

We are also getting some rain. Maybe enough to fill my ponds before spring.
