I get it.Like listening to Andy Williams sing - Born Free - as one's father
insists what kind of Car person he is.A Chevy or Ford Man.Maybe a Dodge/Chrystler
guy. Then going into to what kind of Beer he prefers.A Bud Man.Or Pabst.
    Maybe Coors.Possibly Shriner.
Then of course what kind of Coffee their son should drink.
Black Coffee or Coffee with cream & sugar.
    There's no escaping perceptions.
I Reserve the right to refuse Perceptions.

In most cases the ones who call others racist are the true racists.

Sass Sweet and Savory Sisters is a great restaurant if you are ever in Thomasville, Ga and need a place to eat. Their shrimp and grits are the best the bananas Foster was great too.

    Not to be confused with - Absolutely Fabulous - { British TV Comedy }
where the use of drinking and smoking is no joke. It's everywhere.
Even though it's meant to be funny.
George Carlin was a Pothead and loved his beer. But never during his act.
Like The Rat Pack where Sammy Davis Jr. could belt out a song while
smoking a cig and holding a drink.

I know a gal who home schools her kids. Today, they watched & studied the Apollo launch and interviewed their grandparents as to where they were that day. Then they made cut out space capsules and ate Oreo Apollo series cookies. Hope public schools taught kids positive things about today in history... but have my doubts. :alientwo:

No fan of the brutish Ramsey. No call for his constant displays of
His way or the Highway.I went thru that with the Nuns in parochial school.
    That was enough for me.
As far as the Moon landing,I kinda remember it well.It was a special
event as if Time froze.People stopped what they normally do and
paid close attention. As if Godzilla was walking around looking for a
    nice apartment.

Ramsey is a showman and under that rough exterior is a nice man. He makes opportunities for ordinary people and tells it like it is. I am a big fan.

I'm not buying that.Julia Child could out cook him in a New York minute.
As could James Beard,Justin Wilson and Graham Kerr combined.
This Ramsey is just a ballbusting disciplinarian.
In the mold of a Jon Taffer.I can't stand that type fellar.
Acting like Drill Sergeants on Paris Island.

How do you know? Did you taste the food? Graham Kerr was good...till he got healthy... and Justin Wilson never helped anyone else achieve success on his show or any of the other cooks you mention helped others succeed ...only Ramsey. And anyone that serves raw chicken... raw fish...or nasty food deserves dressing down. And it makes a good show.

Ramsey and Taffer are just Pushy to the point of taking over.
    I don't cotton that approach.It's almost Inhumane.Like being in
Prison.Or some southern jail.Even in the classic :
    - A Face in the Crowd - { 1957 } Lonesome Rhodes { played stupendously
by Andy Griffith } was allowed to act like a regular stumblebum drifter
while in a southern jail.Imagine if this Taffer or Ramsey were in charge of
that jail cell { as big as a room }.Both those guys need to be toyed with by bigger
and more demanding type authoritarians.I'm not into Authoritarianism.
    I'm a Free spirit.Live and let live.I don't cotton control freaks.Not even for a
    split second.

It would take Ramsey and a Paris Island Drill Sergeant to fix some of restaurants Ramsey selects for his show.

    Good point about silver sprinkles.
Next time the Oreo bosses decide to cook up a batch of special cookies they should run it by the bar first.

    I can't believe it's been 50 years.

I was listening to a young scientist on the radio yesterday talking about how excited they are to get people out to Mars because his generation hasn't had the opportunity to experience anything like the first moon landing. It's been fun watching the footage and interviews and listening to people's stories about where they were when Neil Armstrong took that one small step...
