Yes, an inherently subversive concept for any real American to be exposed to.
The Glenn Miller sound is very addictive - especially when you are in the mood for it.

I have been known to play swing in my workshop... Back when I had room . It takes the edge off. And gets a rhythm going. But so does Cole Porter and Bo Diddly.

Anvils are a tough one. World war 2 was the demise of a lot of them and the ones you can find sell by the pound.
A buddy of mine made a small one from a chunk of rail road iron, it’s pretty cool but nowhere near authentic.

Casting an anvil is impressive. I want to cast a glass rock. I have all these brick and glass bottles and all this scrap wood.

Hmmm, that sounds kind of cool.
The only thing I have cast is bullets but since I bought this lathe I want to cast brass things to turn on it.

I worked in a foundry for years. Make sure no water gets under the metal.

I’ve had a few surprises. Thank god Molten lead only burns for a little while when it gets on you.

Batteries for certain things " Like a Motorcycle " are a bit trickier.
Or an Old Lawn mower.Motorcycle batteries can be double the price
if one is not careful to where and how to shop.
A Dealer is by far the worst place to buy a battery.I bought 2
motorcycle batteries last year. One cost around $ 50 bucks with
free shipping plus sales tax { because it was from Ohio } and the
other battery over $ 100 dollars from the dealer.GRanted the dealer battery
was a popular name high end battery { sealed } but it cost like $ 114 with tax.
The other battery was also sealed but more a generic brand. There was little
difference in the amps of either battery.
Motorcycle dealers are NOT to be trusted. They exist by the skin of their
teeth and usually go under after awhile.Plus Motorcycle dealers used
to charge the rate going for motorcycle mechanics { $ 44 an hour } back
in the mid 2000's.As of like 6 years ago they make $ 86 an hour.
Plus if only an oil change they charge for letting the bike sit and cool
down while draining the oil. That's ends up being like 45 minutes for doing
    exactly Nothing.

I think it also has to do with energy and the orientation of objects. It kind of makes sense.
I like light and airy. Clutter and dark heavy furniture makes me feel like the life is being sucked out of me.

If Im in a room with big dark heavy wood furniture and a dark sofa and chairs, with a dark burgundy colored oriental rug on a hardwood floor, just throw a blanket over me and wake me up in a few years.

Im not sure but I think that may be odd. Ahahahha

Comfortable and maybe if it was dead silent and someone was really close, they might hear it.

I guess nobody picked up on my dark humor.
To get from Sacramento to Reno or vice verse, you have to go over Donner Pass.

We use to go over my aunts house for Halloween. They gave out better candy over there than where we lived. Two houses my cousin and I always tried to remember to walk past but never could remember. The bobbing for apples lady and the dentist who gave out toothbrushes.

I can just envision using power tools in a workshop while playing
a cole porter song with George Gershwin at the piano.
I bet even little birdies outside would beg to come in.
As if Little Birdies are prone to begging.

Read an article this morning on what birds do during hurricanes. Fascinating stuff. Ranks right up there with 'Nobody has to feed the robins and they survive. Aren't humans at least as smart as robins?'

    (The answer is NO.)

One cold and rainy Halloween when I was 8-1/2 months pregnant I put a thermos of hot chocolate and bag of marshmallows by the front door and handed out little paper cups of hot choc to trick or treaters and their frozen parents.

Needless to say, my house was a big hit that year.

(Now days I don't even turn on the porch light. Bah humbug) ;)
