I caught a couple of freeloaders stealing food from the neighborhood this morning.

    On account the Dew Point.
Dew Point in the 70's makes for very sweaty days.

Same place as before, they would serve up the heart and liver of the first bear taken in season at the local watering hole. Free, of course, it wasn't FDA approved.

Fresh like that wasn't bad, if a little greasy. I don't do liver and such, the gag reflex kicks in, but I'll try anything (food wise) at least once. I went back for thirds....

    .

I told my kids that pepperoni pizza was bear pizza. They loved bear pizza until some other brats clued them in.
    Doesn't make me a bad father. ;-)

I ain't into drinks the color of traffic lights.Nor the Umbrellas.
Or loaded with ice.The worst drinks use shaved ice like at a Carnival.
The best drinks use designer ice cubes the size of tennis balls
in thick heavy glasses.Like what Jackie Gleason used.He had a
sunken bar in his Miami home where the chairs were made to
almost lock-in against the bar. So's as to not fall out when tipsy.
One had to almost ask for help to get out from one them Bar chairs.

Saw a great Gleason movie recently. Soldier in the Rain. Gleason was a hell of an actor.
Steve McQueen was also pretty good in it.

Sounds like a bar Dean Martin could have used.

20190808_162255.jpg This is the top of the pirates chest. It is stained with pokeberries smashed with a little clear vinegar. Will see what it looks like when oiled. I guess I be stuck with it. 20190808_162307.jpg The ends look a little better..... the grain looks almost like fire.... Looks better in person.

This is very old heart pine and it still has some old paint stain deep in the grain. Will not use a thickness planer on it because of hidden metal. So everything's done with sandpaper ....or wire brush. If you want a rustic finish a light touch with a wire brush looks great. I am beginning to think the natural finish .... and stubborn paint marks...looks the best.

Steve McQueen proved he was anything but a Golfer in dat one.
More like a Three Stooges playing golf.

That shade looks good to me. How about simmering the berries and drawing some of the stain out as you keep reducing the water. You might be able to get several different shades of stain for different projects.

He was playing a very goofy rather challenged sergeant - he was good at it.
Gleason was far more interesting to watch.
