Did you go on the offshore gambling boats or the Indian Casinos in Florida?

I am laughing so hard.. Maybe you should write a script for a movie...lol. I think I know some of your neighbors..Lol. I think they have been some of my neighbors..lol. I loaned a neighbor some money one time and wrote her a check. When I gave her the check she told me she wanted cash, not a check. I will give her an A+ for nerve...that took some nerve..lol. She never paid me back. Later on, they moved away.

 

What I do usually is I make a playlist like now. Then search the forum and listen to the songs I posted until... a shinier penny catches my imagination.

When I was a young lad I went to Reno/Tahoe with my first wife and we grabbed a room and ate and then headed to the casino. My wife never gambled so she went to play one of "those one arm bandits." About a half hour later she came up to the crap table I was on and asked me for a couple dollars and I told "lets Go".. Of course she wanted to know where we were going and I told back to the room to get our stuff. You see I blew our whole wad of about $400 on the crap table betting against a China man. Far as I know he is still up there shooting. Back in 1965 that was a lot of money. Luckily I had a Harvey's player card and they lent me $25.00 to get home. It was a very looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong ride home. After that I set a limit on what I would play. I also decided to learn the odds of the different games. I enjoy watching others play more than my own playing. I do play Texas Hold-um tournaments and have finished at the final table a few times but never finished First. Second was the best I did. Now when I go to Vegas I go for the Food and Shows more than anything and I might limit myself to $100. My wife says she limits herself to $100 but it's more like $200. Your very smart not to play. If anyone worries about how much they will lose or cannot afford to lose then they shouldn't play.

 

I honestly believe that if one is pressing to win and gets agitated it's like the machine knows it and will take all your money. My wife thinks I'm nuts. She will tell me to sit down and play a machine and if the machine isn't calling me I won't play it. I normally win when I'm relaxed and after a few spins have a good feeling about the machine. I have hit more big jackpots when I'm killing time or getting ready to leave the casino and I'm playing off some credits.

 

I don't gamble. The only gambling story that stuck with me was seeing some other guy gamble.

I was strolling through a casino in the latter half of the 1970s. I just happened to see a guy at a card table. It was just him and the dealer. He was playing five-card stud.

I won't forget the look on his face. Even while he was losing, he looked bored; like he might as well be reading the newspaper.

He was throwing down $1000 chips.

 

Same with any kind of gambling. My mom always called it 'scared money.' You can't win while being scared to lose. If you can't afford the loss, don't play.

I don’t gamble either, not even the lottery. Back in my army days, stationed in Kansas,I received orders to go to Germany. Before I left, I picked up a Harley Davidson and had it shipped to Germany with my household goods, and sold it to a German guy tripling my money. A couple of years pass and my enlistment is up. I out processed and am flying home as a civilian, with a layover in Las Vegas and my entire life’s savings (lol I was 22 at the time) on my person. My wife jambs me up for some money to gamble. Are you crazy? You can’t gamble in an airport! It’s against the law! She bought it and sat beside me in the terminal as I listened to the faint ding ding ding of slot machine in the distance.
