That spots pretty salty but still kinda brackish. Salty enough that oysters and barnacles are present. I'd like to catch a shark in the 50 pound range. Deep fried shark in peanut oil....hummm mhmmm...See where the red arrow is? Just to the East of I 75. I do fish freshwater but I love saltwater. It is more of a drive but I dont mind, 17 miles aint to bad. Screenshot 2021-03-04 at 3.38.53 PM.png

17 miles isn't bad at all.

Some of my fondest memories as a kid are from our annual journey down to Sarasota every year. We used to drop into places like Weeki Wachee on the way down. It was a ton of fun.

Another thing I liked about Florida back then were all the little 1 story houses with the hipped roofs and wide eaves that were built in the '50s, and strangely enough I wound up buying one here in Virginia, which is where my wife and live now. I never imagined that one day I would get to live in one of those houses - it's like a childhood dream come true. :D

My uncle lives there. To big nowadays for my taste. Any time I go there it's a 50 mile drive in about a straight line, due west to go to the hospital to see my other half, our hospital is a band aid station that sends you there. Myakka state park on Hwy 72 is nice. Our little city is full of historic houses. This was an early settled area in the pioneer days, cattle and citrus remain the life blood here in DeSoto county.

I imagine that it's a different world than what it was 50 year ago. Same thing goes for where I grew up in Northern Virginia. Back then it was still a semi-rural agricultural area with a lot of dairy and horse farms but after the federal government exploded in the '70s and '80s it got over-developed out the ying-yang to provide offices and homes for people working in the DC area. I could literally see the growth of the Federal Leviathan before my very eyes.

It's quite sad, actually - NoVa used to be one of the prettiest areas in the Commonwealth. Now, it's gone completely to crap, in my opinion.

I've watched the Yankees move here in droves over a decade. For a town of 8K traffic is fairly bad here. Many like to trash talk Fl but damned if they dont like moving here. I imagine the next time they vote in a Democrat at the capitol, we will "enjoy" state income taxes.

Potatoes, okra and onions, we have another plot that will have squash, cucumbers, pole beans, corn, peppers and a few egg plants. This year we are planting in three different plots and down the hill we are going to sow millet and sunflowers.

Are you a native born Floridian? We have had more Democrat governors than Republican. I don't thing there will ever be state income tax. No need Florida always has a balanced budget.

However ... be that as it May Ellen. When things don't add up
a normal human occurance should kick-in.
After checking Smartmouthwoman's Post activity I find it
very odd. Most all her posts are right here at her Thread.
She knew exactly why I wasn't here way back in August.
However she managed to locate me at another message Board.
I explained in a Personal Comment at that message board as to
my Banning in Late August and when my date for Banning would be
    lifted.
Here activity at this Thread on the day before my Return was
fast & furious with 5 posts on Feburary 22nd.
    I posted on my return date { Feburary 23rd } # 3150.
Miss Smarty however did not respond until the following
    day { the 24th } with a very brief post { # 3167 }
Which appears to be her last known post here at this Pop stand.
With a rather short but not necessarily sweet reply.
    What Gives.

So you are the reason we are getting all of these people. They like it enough to come here but everything is better the way they did it back home.

That's nice to knowed. However I dint realize that Miss Smarty
had the cash flow to afford a Press Agent.Knowing her passion for being
a cheapskate { it's a 50's era thingy }. How much are you charging her.?
For being her Press Agent.Inquiring minds { Nosy Parkers } are interested.

You are here, she is gone. She is here, you are gone. Why were you banned? Seems like a lot of that happened in a short period of time. How long were you banned? Welcome back.

I was banned for no specific reason.Just use of a word to another
poster that could be deemed inappropriate.
That plus a few points on my Infringment of rules calendar
    instituted a 6 month ban.
Like the movie - On the Waterfront - { 1954 } my favorite all time
movie ... " When there's something they want there's nutin' they
    won't stop at " -- Tillio
Maybe They felt my message board presence around voting
may have upset the Leftist Apple Cart.
    Cuz ... I coulda been a contender.
My excuse ... - The Movies Made Me Do It -.

If you have to ask you can't afford it. Now be nice, being rude is not a good feature.
