It was aired in a private home after a dinner party a few years ago. Probably a DVD - might have been an older VHS copy. IMO, the movie should be watched by every political science major.
Everything they need to know about politics is explored in that film including the critical importance of defensive walls.

    I found this source:

    https://www.rarefilmsondvd.com/product-page/the-devils-1971-uncut-dvd

    https://www.amazon.com/Devils-special-directors-Region-format/dp/B007S194OC

I doubt a DVD was ever made let alone marketed.
I rented a copy { VHS } years ago from my favorite Video store.
    I see where Amazon does have a few DVD { Special Edition }
copies for sale at $ 69.99.That movie was out of print before
DVD was even commercial. So those copies were probably transferred
off VHS.There is now a service where anyone can transfer just about
anything { even Super 8 film } onto DVD.

You followed about the same pattern as my unvaccinated brother who has it now. He had a few days of yucks and is on the mend. His wife is worse off but still at home. It hit her in the GI tract which is more common in women than men anyway. She was the typhoid mary though. She works as a nurse in a sliding fee clinic that serves the low income people. She had refused the vax because of concerns about the ingredients.

I just scanned through the Wiki page on The Devils. Many of the more disturbing scenes have apparently been edited in many versions. I suppose the the film was intended to be anti-Christian, but IMO it strikes other targets far more directly. The description of church corruption and decadence was no more extreme than those detailed in Dante's Comedy.

    "Home media[edit]
The Devils has had a complicated release history in home media formats, with various cuts being made available in different formats.[61]Warner Home Video released a clamshell VHS of the film in the United States in 1983, labeled as featuring a 105-minute cut of the film;[62] however, this is a misprint, as this edition actually runs 103 minutes, due to time compression.[63] Warner reissued a VHS edition in 1995, with a corrected label of a 103-minute running time.[64] A VHS was issued in the United Kingdom by Warner in 2002 as part of their "Masters of the Movies" series, reportedly running 104 minutes.[65] However, according to film historian Richard Crouse, the VHS version available in the United Kingdom is identical to the American VHS editions, despite the labeled runtimes.[63]

A bootlegged NTSC-format DVD was released by Angel Digital in 2005, with the excised footage reinstated, along with the Hell on Earthdocumentary included as a bonus feature.[66] In 2008, it was suspected that Warner Home Video may have been planning a U.S. DVD release for the film, as cover artwork was leaked on the internet.[67] However, Warner responded to the claim by deeming the leaked news an "error."[67] In June 2010, Warner released The Devils in a 108-minute version for purchase and rental through the iTunes Store,[68] but the title was removed without explanation three days later.[69]

On 19 March 2012, the British Film Institute released a 2-disc DVD featuring the 111-minute UK theatrical version (sped up to 107 minutes to accommodate the technicalities of PAL colour).[67][70] The BFI release also includes the Kermode documentary Hell on Earth, as well as a vintage documentary shot during the production entitled Directing Devils, among other features[70]

In March 2017, streaming service Shudder began carrying the 109-minute U.S. release version of The Devils.[71] In September 2018, FilmStruck began streaming the same U.S. cut and it was subsequently added to the Criterion Channel in October 2019, almost a year after FilmStruck shut down.[72] The film has since been removed from Criteron's offerings.[73]" Wiki

Thank greatly for the research and new info.Especially the info regarding
cut scenes.I bought a DVD of - Natural Born Killers - a few years ago
at Barnes and Noble.I thought it very strange. That place should know better.
That movie was one of just a few that got Banned. As far as major releases.
Not some Troma or Psychotronic crap.Barnes and Noble is a Kids store
basically.Kids pressure Mommy to go and get Harry Potter trinkets and stuff.
It's got a lot of Kiddie stuff { toys etc. }. Natural Born Killers is the last kind of
movie that Barnes & Nobles should have in their DVD/LP/TV Show section.
Plus it's photographed in a surreal/very colorized mode.Making it even worse.
    Prone to Nightmares.

I have seen Natural Born Killers.
The movie glorifies wanton murder and seemed to have been crafted to undermine an already failing criminal justice system - hard to watch.

Been a garden slacker for about the last week and a half. Stumbled out today and ended up needing to pick about 150 or so tomatoes. Guess I am going to be making tomato sauce or something in the near future....

Just started - The Fugitive Kind - since I like to get up early and write.
Seen 4 or 5 times { never start to finish }.I think I rented a copy once.
Won't watch start to finish this time.I like to relish a movie. This is a
true Drama { my cup of tea }. Brando is an older and wiser version of
Terry Malloy.Soft spoken and polite. But still able to get riled-up
at a moments notice.I think he displayed that side of acting craft in every
movie, except a few.Like one nobody but me has ever seen ...
    A risque comedy with David Niven - Bedtime Story - { 1964 }.
And possibly - The Teahouse of the August Moon - {1956 } totally out
of character and another comedy.I always liked that movie.
    Brando might not have got riled-up in - The Godfather - { 1972 }.
    Or too mush in - Guys and Dolls - { 1955 } nor - The Young Lions - {1958 }.
So Brando is truly a versatile and believable character actor.
Extending beyond a mere caricature of his Hollywood image.
His Mother ran a small theatre group back in Omaha. No word as
    to Brando's Father.Marlon was,as expected, incorrigible as a student
and got kicked out of Military school before graduating.
I doubt anyone in Hollywood had the guts to run around and joke
    about him being a " dropout ".

You need to be very careful out there. You can’t see the virus but it can see you and knows the vulnerable spots to attack. This virus is evil!!
    Just be vigilant.

The old white guy on the oatmeal box just kept smiling at me.

August is known for Garden Fresh Beefsteak tomatoes.
A real treat.Especially around my house growing up.
I had to endure a slice of tomato { hot house } Year round.
At dinner.Because they a great source of Vitamin C.
Gave up tomatoes about 10 years then o_Onions before that.
I had stomach problems due to apparently tomatoes were GMO.
Like the first examples of GMO.
Now If I eat something with GMO I end up having a runny nose
    and sneeziing.Which doesn't explain Steaks.Yeah it does.
    Corn-fed beef.
    All Corn is GMO.No exceptions.
    Got that Doritos Fans.

Acidic foods will mess with a person's stomach, and worse.

Try something called Prelief. You take it right before you eat that acidic something, and it helps. Also try reduced acid tomatoes (yellow varieties are usually reduced acid). Do not eat raw white or yellow onions, always cook them. Red onions are lower in acid. Yellow or red bell papers are less acidic then green bell peppers.

While GMO products are a personal choice, I have never heard of an allergic reaction to GMOs. More likely the acid involvement.

Grass fed beef is some of the best you can get. My cousin raised grass fed beef. He had the best hamburger around.

It really was pretty good. It wasn't exactly to my taste, but it's quality stuff. It doesn't use that cheese powder stuff. It has a real cheese sauce in a vacuum-sealed pouch.

Crossdressing me reply ... are ya.
    It's been said ... " a lot of men cross-dress "
" entertainment has thrived on drag,cross-dressing and
    androgony ".
    I may sure not to be a drag.Like that's bad karma ...
    Daddios.
Most cattle are or can be a drag.Like most women.
Especially as Joanne Woodward proved in - The Fugitive Kind -.
Banned from one town and run out of most others. As
Carol Cutreee.Wild ain't the half of it.Nor footloose and
and fancy free.As Brando { snakeskin } asks her while driving
her dirty sports car with the top down ... " Why do you make such a
crazy show of yerself " ... " Cuz I'm an exibitionist ! I want to people
to know I'm alive.Don't you want people to know yer alive."
Therefore the use of Tomato ... as in a hot chick.Like Beefsteak
ain't all about themselves.Never seen a Beefsteak tomato that
    wasn't ... all about itself.Plump and shiny { no need for makeup }
or a girdle. With a juicy outlook on life.
So now you know.A better way to get across.
