I have a deck closed off with chicken wire with a tin roof. We have to keep our cats inside. Something always gets the outside cats. The road, the coyotes, other cats...

My first bunch of thrift cuttings are rooted. I got exactly 50% survivors. They were started early. My 2nd bunch of cuttings looks a lot better. Pretty close to 100% . Just potted up some in bigger pots because I am running out of cell packs. Going to start putting it in the ground this July. July is our wettest month.

It's been pretty brutal down in your parts, hasn't it Todd?

I had to stop ordering my brewing supplies from Austin Homebrew because it's over 100 degrees every day.

I don't know how some people can take that kinda heat...

That sounds like my Cody dog, he trots along in the shady spots and when he gets to the sunny spots the race is on.

The two dogs got skunked by a skunk or skunks. Skunk odor is not an easy thing to remedy especially when one of the dogs has long hair.

We have started having burglaries... never had them before.. they're coming from Mexico. Most recent was a contiguous ranchito.. I have wild javalinas that come up to drink out of our tree rings.. hope that dissuades any raids here.. anyway, I don't really want to have to shoot anyone... but we are slipping into a dystopian nightmare in the USA. We got a few years reprieve,, but it is back with a vengence.

I was wondering how things are where you live. Would love to go back to that area but don't see it happening any time soon.

If the proprietor of the bar were here she would remind people of the rule about discussing politics.

Who mentioned politics? Oh.. the demise of the USA? was that it.. don't see where I ascribed that to anyone in particular.. but if you have assumed I did, and that I blamed anyone,, then I guess you have injected politics into the conversatiopn. We are under siege here.. that's allI was saying. Nothing abouit who is encouraging and condoning it.

Just got back from a week in Roatan. Snorkeled six unique sites, including one while dark. Got to see a hammerhead shark. Will post a few pics when photomat has processed them.

I completed the basic riders course that is necessary to go to the DMV and get your motorcycle endorsement on your license.

You had to work for it it wasn't easy. A 3-day course at a Harley dealership that cost $160.

The first day was videos in the written test and the second day was practice riding on the range and the third day was practice followed by the exam... On the bike itself.

They have a fleet of about 15 Harley 500 streets.

It was much more difficult to get than a normal driver's license. They made you do a lot of slow speed maneuvers such as figure eights and very tight corners and other maneuvers as well. Successful. And it was a 35 mile trip each way from my house for 3 days for a total of six trips back and forth. But now I'm totally legal and I'm not riding dirty. Getting pulled over without the endorsement even if you have a valid driver's license is a $500 fine and a second degree misdemeanor.

They can actually take you to jail and they will certainly tow an impound your bike.
