I don't think they understand what 'local' government means. If the Fed was responsible for all infrastructure, then why the **** am I paying local property and use taxes?

Furthermore, for all you blue guys with your fracking bans, etc., Texas supplies a LOT of the fuel that runs this country...including the hypocritical blue states. That fuel and oil is TAXED by the Feds to the tune of 1.84 cents/gallon for gasoline and 24.4 cents for diesel. That tax revenue....that ultimately is created by TEXAS...is then redistributed to crappy road blue states. Wealth redistribution...lefties love some wealth redistribution.

If Texas gets anything from the FEDS, it's just a refund.

Texans pay an additional 20 cents/gallon. That's how we take care of our own crap.

I always appreciate your attempts to twist reality.

So, if 18 of the poorest states are Red, it's because they have Democratic policies....

So, logically, if 16 of the richest states are Blue, it's because they follow the Republican recipe.

    Laughable.

But, by sheer coincidence, the last 3 economic crises occurred when a Republican POTUS was in office...

    Show some courage.

There are only 7 years left in Biden's presidency.

States and local government don't have money. Of course we know the federal government doesn't either but they have unlimited amounts of credit.

And yet liberals keep fleeing their states in droves.

Please tell all your buddies Florida sucks and not to come here. They don't seem to have got the message

I don't know there's only like 20% in the bill for actual infrastructure, most of the cash is earmarked for pet projects to get votes. Unfortunately, government going to do what government does.

Obama said there was no shovel ready jobs after all.... this seems like there were plenty of them, but the Democratic Party coffers needed filling and their special interest groups needed payoffs.

Just like Joe's "infrastructure", the $ predominantly is not going to go to where it's actually needed.

When Democrats see $, they see payoffs, not improvements. The Republicans do the same with Defense.

If that was the case, God would have hit a true red state... Penn made one HUGE mistake, but we've welcomed them back (assuming they fill the Toomey seat properly)

And wake-up calls don't always work for the hypnotized....

Which is an incredibly impressive number considering how texas gets royally screwed over by the federal gov't with piss poor border security.

Texas isn't poorly run (far from perfect but definitely not poorly run), the federal gov't is.

Yes, Texas sure did a great job with their infrastructure in 2021. Great planning---ignoring recommendations was super smart. What a great job.

Could you point out in my post where I said Texas was run perfectly?

Congrats on your meaning less post. I hope it made you feel better.

The cost of living is indeed rising faster in the richer states, which are almost all blue.

Californians often move to Texas, a poorer state, where they will pay less for their homes and less in taxes.

But fortunately, they still vote Democrat.

That colossal blunder means Texas can hardly be said to be governed even adequately, and the issues it caused for Texans was far from meaningless. Thank you for a post apologizing for a major series of ****ups.

It wasn't the infrastructure part of the "infrastructure" (sarcastic quotes) spending package that anyone had a problem with. It was the fact that only ~25% of the monies it spends are actually allocated to infrastructure.

Your state should refuse federal infrastructure money if that's what you think the Constitution provides.

I see the Biden trip was modified to allow him to tour the (former) bridge site today.... that's good work to react to events by his advance staff.

Also, I see Fetterman showed up, after previously claiming a 'prior engagement'. Also, Conor Lamb is there, so that was a good decision by JFett

Also, Is anybody else worried that Lamb could be the next Joe Manchin if elected?? His voting record is more liberal than many thought it would be, but I still have my doubts...
