We got almost 6 inches in Raleigh NC yesterday. I'm originally from Ohio, where that much is no big deal at all. but down here there are no plow trucks or salt trucks. That much snow has shut down the entire county the past 2 days.

Here the snow hasn’t been bad but the cold has.

we had a record number of days below freezing a few weeks back. It was down in the teens, which is unheard of down here. In Ohio, we had weeks of single digit, sub zero temps. That's why I moved. But damn it if that **** didn't follow me down here

Hold on I'm burning carbon as fast as I can here.

We had 12 days in a row way below freezing with the nights below zero. I live in an old house and when it gets to -10 the first floor can only get to 55.

    yea that's cold.

I remember one winter about 6 years ago back in Ohio, our furnace went out. I woke up and could see my breathe. We had a gas fireplace in the living room which puts out quite a bit of heat, so the main rooms were fine. Bedrooms were rough until I could get HVAC out.

The night time lows have been in the 40's here in Seattle for weeks and that's what we expect for the rest of winter.

    I love that map.

I once lived in IN. God created Indiana with a flat iron.

So, I guess the result is we have people who don't know that mountains have snow year round, every year.

We can expect unusual events due to climate change.

Great Britain should get much colder as a result of global warming.

I know that gets pretty complicated for anti-science types but don't worry your little head about it.

Yes I'm sure I couldn't possibly grasp the complexities that pour from the sucks of every illiterate liberal clutching their AGW bible.

Before thou canst fry to death, one firsteth musteth freeze to death!

So sayeth the mighty Gore, hero of us all! OMMMMMM

The anti science types? We don't know enough about the climate change to even call it a science.

When the so called science folks can use cooling, and warming as evidence, well, heads I win, tails you lose. I used to think it was a hoax, now I am fairly sure it is a fraud. A con game. And you guys are marks. And it seems very willing marks.

You are looking at weather not climate change to the degree you believe.

Minimal change in land temps, but ocean temps have warmed. Why? Volcanoes on the bottom of the ocean. Geologic activity. Which has been active for years. Warmer water rises. Makes more sense than this co2 hysteria. Historically, co2 levels are lower today than in the past history of life on this planet. Won;t hurt a thing for them to rise. Flora will be very happy. Which will make the earth smile again.

No, it is NOT "heads I win, tails you lose".

Climatologists are saying that earth's temperature is rising. The EARTH's temperature - not Alabama's temperature.

And, they note that the change includes redistribution of heat to some extent, greater anomalies, etc.

Your statement that climatology isn't science is just plain silly.

Your assumption that you know more about ocean temperature than do oceanographers is really a bad position for you to take. Why would ANYONE believe you, when you have NO standing, NO data, and must be assumed to have NO education in the areas affected. You haven't even CITED anyone who does!

He stayed in a Holiday Inn last night - that equals a degree in oceanography in his book.

Not to mention the number of times they've been caught just flat out lying and making up the data.

would these be the same oceanographers that benefit personally and financially if they determine the earth is warming? Ive worked in env science for over 3 decades. I know how it works first hand but Ill await your answer to see if its truthful or not.

    Those charges have been rejected.

There is no justification for rejecting climate change on the grounds of fabrication.

Science holds its greatest rewards for those who show that current models are wrong.

And, it is organized to test and reject false hypotheses.

In the case of climatology, the results from those studying the sun, atmosphere from all altitudes, core heating, oceans, volcanoes, paleo climate, historic record, satellite data, land based data, etc., etc., could not possibly be coordinated to tell a false story.

Attempting such a feat is just not a rational possibility.

Beyond that, coordinating such a story when ALL those elements are studied world wide would mean a conspiracy of near perfect global proportions - another total impossibility.

I'm sure you can find grant applications that have been designed to appeal to their audience. But, that is a very different matter.

No, I'm saying it was never a yes/no question.

You aren't even in the right ballpark yet.

No, YOU tell me how your conspiracy can cover the numerous disciplines as studied around the entire world and be so total.

Your conspiracy isn't just about world wide corruption of all disciplines, it's about doing so in a way that tells a specific story.

I'm waiting for you explanation. But, it needs to include some cites. I mean, it's too large to suggest I should believe you based on no more than your claims on some board.

simple...its not a conspiracy. Here lll help you conclude the answer yourself in a scientific manner. Tell the forum what you believe would be the result if a subcontractor of the govt, working on a govt contract studying global warming...concluded there was no evidence of manmade global warming. What happens next?
