I don't mean to harp on race.

My best friend and best man for my wedding is black he doesn't want to talk about discrimination, for him it's just a fact of life.

    I feel bad for that.

    Is that wrong?

Anyway thanks for acknowledging our equality.

It won't ruin mine. It will cut down on several federal contracts and the military budget that affects me personally, but it won't harm me. I have friends in high places.

The good news about Joe winning (which there isn't much), is that now when crap hits the fan, the Dems get ALL of the blame. Just as what happened to Trump when he took over in 2017. So I look forward to their excuses for each of his failures.

By "feeling bad" does that somehow improve things? Does feeling bad get better when you denigrate those of your own race? I have seen that often. I grew up in a Quaker town and in the 70's we had "Black History Month" at high school. There were a few Quaker girls that when we studied about slavery, they "felt" so bad, they each went out and got some black boyfriends. Nobody ever really cared but it never changed a thing. Guess it was their way of making reparations. Now those girls are married to white boys.
You can feel bad all you want. I think it is enough to respect them as valuable children in the eyes of God and to expect them to live a responsible life as you would anybody.

So I've seen your posts around here and I suppose you are telling the truth in those threads.

But I think you are being a bit partisan here.

I have worked for a defense contractor for the last six years and most of my superiors were military officers (very down to earth individuals btw). I also work with many veterans (not as down to earth individuals, call it conditioning perhaps?)

Anyway the combination of the two (in addition to what I now know) lead me to believe that you are full of B.S.

Contracts last a long time. And no one I work with is worried about cuts. Even the combat vets I work with know cuts come out of soldier's pockets not R&D for contractors.

In fact I was just talking about the troop reduction in Iraq and Afghanistan with my DCMA rep this morning about how 2500 troops can't do anything but defend themselves. He supported Trump too you know.

Forgive me if I have trouble believing your story. I have been both a contractor for many years and am still an Officer in the military. I was able to do both because I was in the Guard (now active duty). The soldiers are never the problem, it's always contractors. Ever had to budget a payload for a contractor set vs. a platoon of soldiers on a deployment?

I already know the answer for that, it's "no".

I appreciate you chiming in, but your level of knowledge of contracting vs. military won't win you this debate. I appreciate you reading my posts though.

Only one way. If he can expand the Supreme Court to cheat his way to getting a ban on assault weapons passed that will survive a Supreme Court challenge, I will be forced to become a criminal for the first time in my life, as I won’t comply. My guns are not for registration, selling or handing over. If the cops get to keep their assault weapons, I’m keeping mine.

Luckily I live in deep red, rural Missouri; a state that will ignore and not enforce a ban like that in the same way blue states ignore and refuse to enforce the federal ban on weed and federal immigration laws.

That's been attempted over 70 times. Both Bush's had SCOTUS appointees and it still didn't happen.

Maybe because a woman's personal freedom to conduct her healthcare in private actually is protected by the constitution.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that abortion shouldn't be used as birth control. But if we allow if for cases of rape and incest then we have to tolerate having it for 'convenience' as ooky as that may be.

Bush was a RINO and not a principled Republican like Trump. When Roe Vs Wade is overturned you will see what a divine messenger Trump is.

I voted for Joe Biden because I like him as a human being, because I want a more progressive tax system, and because I want more environmental regulations.

I voted against Donald Trump because I dislike him as a human being, because he cut taxes for the rich, and because he reduced environmental regulations. In addition, I think Trump is intellectually, psychologically, and morally unsuited for the presidency. He lacks gravitas. He is not presidential.

Nevertheless, Biden will make the criminal justice system more lenient. I want a harsher criminal justice system. Biden will reduce restrictions on immigration. I want more restrictions on immigration. He says he will oppose systemic racism. What is that? Blacks are not discriminated against any more. They are discriminated in favor of with affirmative action programs. The high rate of black incarceration is due to the high black crime rate.

Generally speaking, I am conservative on social issues, and liberal on environmental and economic issues. If I only voted for candidates who agreed with me on everything, I would never vote. The Democrat Party I really like is the party that existed from the inauguration of Franklin Roosevelt in 1933 and the assassination of John Kennedy in 1963. I supported the civil rights movement as a child, a teenager, and a young adult. I have since then become disappointed with the black response to the opportunities opened to them.

Roe vs Wade was good for the Republican Party. It led to the creation of the religious right. The religious right is a mass movement of lower middle class whites who would benefit from Democrat economic policies. Nevertheless, they vote Republican because of their opposition to abortion.

The Roe vs Wade decision was made when abortion was becoming a popular operation. It was legalized in state after state. By legalizing abortion by judicial decree the Supreme Court enabled Christian conservatives to believe that they represented majority opinion on the issue.

I want the Roe decision to be overturned because it will be good for the Democrat Party. If Roe is overturned most states will quickly legalize abortion. It will become obvious to Christian conservatives that they do not represent the majority. Instead they represent a shrinking minority. Most will retreat from politics, and resume their passive wait for the Second Coming of Christ. The Republican Party will lose a constituency that has been important for Republican electoral victories.

Although I oppose the Roe decision, and I do not care about a woman's right to choose, I favor free abortion on demand at any stage of pregnancy, .

When Trump was asked if any woman had aborted the result of an encounter with him he demonstrated the rare honesty to refuse to answer. I would love it if women came forward with proof that Trump impregnated them, that he pressured them to have abortions, and that he paid for those abortions. That would break the hold Trump has on the religious right, although some Trump supporters would not believe it, just as they do not believe that Trump lost the election honestly, and that Barack Obama was born in the United States.

Trump is truly a messenger of Gods will. He would never pressure a woman to kill life.

keep your anti life platform dems. When the truth goes out you all will be the minority

    Opinion
    Trump Does It His Way
    [IMG]
By Maureen Dowd, April 2, 2016

WASHINGTON — YOU could hear how hard it was for Donald Trump to say the words...

Given his draconian comment, sending women back to back alleys, I had to ask: When he was a swinging bachelor in Manhattan, was he ever involved with anyone who had an abortion?

“Such an interesting question,” he said. “So what’s your next question?”

    I pressed...

I am sure that God has more qualified messengers. The most sincerely Christian president the United States has ever had was President Carter. In 1980 Christian conservatives abandoned him for a product of Hollywood who had signed California's abortion law, divorced his first wife, and seldom attended church.

In 2016 Christian conservatives reached even lower and choose a man who divorced two wives when they got too old for him, even though they were younger than he was. Moreover, he is a lying, foul mouthed, womanizing pagan.

Republican presidents could have overturned Roe vs Wade by now. All they needed to do was to make opposition to abortion a litmus test for anyone they nominated for the Supreme Court. They did not do it because they did not want Roe to be overturned. When Ronald Reagan was elected governor of California he signed a law legalizing abortion.

If Roe is overturned most states will quickly legalize abortion. A few states like California will specifically allow abortion in their state constitutions. Many pro abortion Republicans will start voting Democrat to keep abortion legal. Many anti abortion Republicans will retreat from politics and resume their passive wait for the Second Coming of Christ.

The New York Times is reluctant to report news that portrays Negroes and homosexuals unfavorably. There are many truths it does not report. Nevertheless, it does not lie.

There are many rumors that Trump paid eight women to abort what he did with them, and made them sign non disclosure agreements.

Maureen Dowd is a syndicated columnist. If she lied about what Trump told her and refused to tell her in an interview it could destroy her career.

The fact that the religious right is relying on Trump to achieve for them what they Republican Party has never achieved for them and never wanted to demonstrates how desperate the religious right is. I have read that one third of women in the United States have at least one abortion during their lives. An operation that popular will never be outlawed.
