A one-eyed goat born in Assam, India, last week is being seen as a blessing by its owner.

The kid was born May 10 with only one eye, one ear and barely a nose, thanks to a condition called cyclopia that occurs in the womb when the brain’s two hemisphere do not separate.

Usually animals with the condition die within hours after being born, but this goat has defied expectations, according to Barcroft TV.

It's so obvious life formed through micro/macro evolution. I'm sorry theists, there is just no moral, logical, or science based reasoning that explains mutational issues like this. Grow up.

What? Science can't say what happened here? Blasphemy.
A one eyed goat is proof of nothing except your bizarre need to bash theists. Just how empty is your life?

Life is meaningless. Some are frightened by this truth, so they chose religion, and others are liberated by this truth.

This is a very good point. Between the years 15-30 I was crippled by the fact life had no specific meaning. By the time 30 came around, I realized this freed me to live whatever type of life I wanted.

That may be your opinion and your life may be meaningless, I'd be crazy to argue with you on that point, but mankind is not an accident. I've a great wife who gave me great kids and am much loved in my family, and that makes me a rich man who's had a rich life.

We create our own reason. This is true freedom and it either liberates or terrorizes.

Thread title- So you're telling me Jesus did this for a reason ? (pic of one-eyed goat)
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Who says Jesus or God did it?
Satan can be a bit of a rotter-
Jesus said "Satan has bound this crippled woman for eighteen years" (Luke 13:16), then he cured her.
Forget the oldfashioned notion of Satan as a "person" and think of him/it as a mass of bad vibes sloshing round the earth disrupting everything it touches.
He/it feeds on and gets it's strength from all the bad vibes churned out by sour-minded nonchristians and atheists, thanks guys..

Satan only acts within the bounds that are set by God.

Good question but, you will have to ask God - He is the one that sets them. In the case of Job, Satan acted only according to the will of his Father. The OT does not say much else about Satan.

In Mark/Matt Satan fulfills the same role as in Job. He is sent by God to test a certain Human ... in this case Jesus.

In Revelations we see a divergence from the normal role of Satan. As was the case with the early Christian fathers ... I do not consider Revelations as Cannon. It is more on the level of Nostradamus ... some fellow had a bad dream and attributed this dream to his personal religious belief. Regardless - Revelations gives a completely different picture of Satan which does not fit.

So god is an a**hole and well lets bad things happen for shits and giggles in the case of poor Job. And in the case of Sodom and Gomorrah the story has god lying to Abraham, saving a sick bastard who offered his virgin daughters to the mob to rape and screwed his daughters after getting drunk okay he didn't know so well then he allowed the rape of the father and daughters deviancy to go unpunished. And he did lie to him there had to be a small number of innocent men in both cities what about SLAVES with penises they were unable to say no to sexual acts demanded of them so were INNOCENT and with the cities being larger there must have been more than 20 slave men and what about women and children. Seriously that tale alone makes the whole of the Bible hard to swallow and add in genocide, rape, slavery and such then who then its even worse.

The reason for the goat is a normal genetic anomaly in the genetic pool.

Don't bad things happen to everyone? The Job story illustrates one way of handling major disasters. Job didn't give up, although he may have had reasons to toss in the towel. He was able to work through his problems and he bounced back stronger than ever. It's sort of like when Cain killed Abel. Adam & Eve didn't fall into depression. They had another son and continued on under their changed conditions.

The sin of Sodom was that they weren't charitable and hospitable to strangers.

Ezekiel 16:49 (NKJV) = "Look, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughter had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

And guess what? Sodom will get rebuilt!

Ezekiel 16:53-54 (ERV) = "53 “I destroyed Sodom and the towns around it, and I destroyed Samaria and the towns around it. And I will destroy you too, Jerusalem. But I will build those cities again, and I will rebuild you too. 54 I will comfort you. Then you will remember the terrible things you did, and you will be ashamed."

The OT does present a rather nasty picture of God... A flip flopping, irrational, xenophobic, genocidal God with the most petty and nasty of human characteristics and emotions.

God makes a law - "Children are not to be killed for the sins of their parents" Great rule - this rule predated Moses by many centuries and is part of the rule of law today.

God then turns around and orders the Israelite's to kill children and babies on account of the sins of their parents.

This picture of God simply does not pass the "giggle test". That some God who is all powerful all knowing God who has existed forever ... who could not possibly be threatened by humans .. would act in such an irrational manner. Why would God care if his creations loved him. How needy is that. "I am a Jealous God" ... really ... and exactly who are you jealous of and why ?

If God wanted all humans to do what he wants - then why did God create humans that do otherwise. ummmmm ... and who is to blame ? Satan .... an entity also created by God ? Why did God create a being that would cause humans to go against God if God did not want this. This just gets so stupid in such a hurry.

The God of Genesis is upset with his creation:

So God sees that every inclination of his creation was "only evil all the time". OK then.. quite a bleak picture. Clearly a failed experiment.

This is such a bad experiment that God regrets that he had made these good for nothing humans. One would think that an all powerful God would not have done such a pathetic job. Regardless - God recognizes his mistake (the first step towards correction is recognition of ones flaws - Good for God !) and regrets making that mistake.

God then decides to erase his mistake. ... probably not a bad idea - don't want the other Gods to see the mess that God made.

But ooohh ohhh ... hold on. God manages to find a human who is not so bad after all. He then kills everyone else but leaves Noah and family alive.

Hmmm ... ok ... Does God not realize that the offspring of Noah will be just as bad as the "only evil all the time" humans he regretted creating ?

Again a massive "giggle test" fail but, lets take things at face value.

Clearly - God is "fallible" . Good on God for owning up to his mistake but, clearly this was a failed effort - a failure by God's own admission.

Now .. as you can see there his hope for God - the ability to admit failure. Now if God can just get rid of some of the other aforementioned nasty traits .... irrational illogical laws, flop flopping, xenophobia, genocide, Jealousy ... and so on - we may be able to let him out of rehab.

Wonder o wonder ! After a few thousand years of rehab .... God is a changed deity and he sends son Jesus to tell humans of his rehabilitation !!

No longer is he a xenophobic genocidal maniac. Now he is all "Love thy neighbor as self... Turn the other cheek.. Treat others as you would be treated ... Judge not .. let ye who is without sin cast the first rock, forgiveness and so on"

    Oh happy day.

I find it strange that we do not have a civic holiday celebrating God getting out of rehab.

First of all God created everything perfect and everything decayed when man sinned. Secondly, how is that proof for evolution? It's harmful mutation as with most other mutation. It does not add any new information.

    Christian logic:

Hold scientific concepts to impossibly high standards, yet accept accept ancient stories about gods and miracles with total confidence.

    Sigh.

You can regard Satan as the oldfashioned stereotype "horned devil" if you like mate, but include me out. He/she/it is far more subtle than that, and many people don't even know he's got a firm grip on their balls..:)
