Don't football players have any sense of shame? I love a good rugby fight though. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNi6nafLcsI&sns=fb"]Rugby vs Soccer - YouTube[/ame]
And what's wrong with soccer, aside from the excessive flopping? Soccer takes a tremendous amount of athletic ability...
Man, I played in HS, and folks were getting bloodied up every game... Nothing fairy about it... Though I will admit that it's boring to watch... Playing it is a different story...
If a scraped up knee qualified a sport as hard core, my niece and her 7th grade softball team would look like MMA event.
I never said soccer was hardcore or anything... And I'm not talking scraped knees in games... I'm talking broken noses, stitches in people's heads, stuff like that... We played that aggressively...
Yeah, it's called sports, it happens. Almost all of them that involve some sort of movement has minor injuries associated with them. I once saw a woman on YouTube get her throat cut by her partners ice skate while dancing around. (*)(*)(*)(*) happens - still a boring fairy sport.
Whatever you say... I think rugby is retarded... *shrug* But, I like soccer... Not to watch (because that is boring), but, to play it... Having played, I know that it takes a lot of athletic ability & skill to play the game... And you can get (*)(*)(*)(*)ed up playing soccer... I've seen it first hand...
I'm not sure why you would think rugby is retarded and enjoy soccer...unless, umm, you're a....nevermind I'm not really a rugby fan, but there's no doubt it's a tough sport.
Probably is a tough sport, I just don't like it... And I have no idea what that nevermind was supposed to be, but, it's probably for the better...
Yes those pussie ice skaters... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2Iw08ymdKU&feature=related"]Johnny Boychuk destroys Matt Ellis w/SlowMo NESN HD 4/19/10 - YouTube[/ame]
Whatever you say... If you don't like it, I guess you don't like it... But, I'm fairly certain one doesn't have to constantly be injured for a sport to be tough...
Wait a minute...powder puff? Collisions at home plate can be pretty rough, not to mention foul tips off of your toes and fingers...and even into the mask can be jolting. I'm not saying baseball is on the level of football or wrestling, it is a non-contact sport...but being a catcher requires being able to stand your ground and block the plate...even at a high school level, a 180lb. kid running at you at full tilt is quite an impact.
Like I said - figure skating is something 99% of people couldn't do and has risks associated with it. Doesn't change my opinion about the "sport". Soccer (homo football) is no different.
So is a 180 Lb fat chick hitting someone in a powder puff game. But let's be honest, brutal catcher hits are even less common than grand slams.
True, it's not an every inning occurance....but playing catcher does require that you block the plate if there is a chance to get the advancing runner out. Peripherally you can see the guy coming at you while you are waiting for the ball to get to you...and your natural instinct is to get the heck out of the way.
Ehhhh... Homo football!? Really??? Your arbitrary figure about figure skating doesn't do anything for your argument either... And if you don't really like rugby, like you said earlier, why are riding so hard for it??? But, to each his own...
