The thread name gives it away -- Share a song that makes you sad or maybe even makes you cry.

This one works, particularly if listened to shortly after a break up. And you've had some whiskey.

We are on the cusp of Christmas, the saddest holiday of the year for many. This song was written in 1943 for soldiers who were overseas at the time. Numerous artists have recorded it, but this version always tugs at the heart strings. Mine, anyway.

On 20 March 1991, Clapton's 4-year-old son Conor died after falling from the 53rd-floor window of a New York City apartment belonging to Conor's mother's friend.

After isolating himself for a period, Clapton began working again, writing music for the film Rush (1991). He dealt with the grief of his son's death by cowriting "Tears in Heaven" for the soundtrack with Will Jennings.

All love songs make a little sad now; this one more than most. But it is bitter sweet - as sweet as it gets.

I don't know if you ever read my thread about my second life, but I was more in love with my first sugar baby than I thought possible. It was the most powerful experience of my life. After a fair bit of dating, two engagements and one 25 year marriage, she is my one true love. Nothing else ever came close. It was love at first sight - a literal out-of-body experience. We saw each other for three years - the best three years of my life. It has been 4.5 years since she had to move on and I still love her like no other. In fact, I have worked very hard to find love like that again. And after 128 first dates and 16 sugar babies,I haven't stopped yet.

But I most identify two songs with her. From the moment we met, John Denver's Annie's Song filled my heart constantly. On one hand it is a little corny. But this was how I felt every moment we were together. In fact from the moment we met, every cheesy love song I heard made perfect sense! :D But I miss her every day and it always makes me a little sad when I hear certain songs.

This was particularly "our song". One year she got a sexy little elf costume and had worked up an entire dance to go with this song. She played this video and did her dance for me. It was one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me. It was so incredibly sexy and sweet that I was moved to tears. I had to quickly wipe the tears when she wasn't looking. LOL! And writing this post brings the tears right back.

Any time a song makes you cry, there is usually a story or person attached. Such is the case with this one. None of you will likely understand the relationship to sadness, but it's a wonderful song nonetheless. Please ignore the video as it has no relation to the song.
