I always get a kick out of the democratic meme of the "southern strategy". I mean, LBJ certainly didn't, hist descendants here in Texas are all still blue to the core democrats. Same in TN. Al Gore SR never switched, and neither did his son. Bill Clinton certainly didn't switch. Ms Hillary never switched. George Wallace never switched. How many of these does one need to list before the notion that democrats fled to the republican party do you need to see?

The plantationists lost. Folks moved on. But apparently, the North and the coasts are still struggling to understand that is was them that changed as their irrational slide into socialism happened. The rest of the nation simply stood back and still, to this day, cannot understand them. And as Democrats shifted farther towards the authoritarian collectivist bent, more folks were left with a "what now" moment. Which we've seen repeat itself now for two decades.

 

Maybe you should go back and read the OP. The point of the thread is to present your opinion and have a debate. Not to post a link and claim victory.
