Southern Strategy: Did The Parties Switch?

Old thread but I have a couple questions.

1. Assuming the parties did not switch, when did the southern slave owning democrats relocate to the north and the Lincoln republicans move south? I mean really. Never have I seen any mention in what must have been the largest human cross migration in recorded history.

2. People prior to the civil war had southern accents due to being populated largely by southern England immigrants who brought the accent with them. If all the democrats in the south moved to the north after the civil war, how come, generally speaking, they lost their accents and how did the northern democrats after moving south develop southern accents when they did not come from southern England?

 

White Southern RACISTS abandoned the DP after Johnson signed the CRA and Nixon invited them to JOIN the GOP which means that there was ZERO "migration", just a simple CHANGE in partisan allegiance.

Not at all surprised that SUPPORTERS of the biggest *LOSER* cannot comprehend something this obvious.

 

That seems clear to me also but I was hoping I could learn from patriotsnews and his seeming expertise on the subject.

 

On a side note. The above in bold should say republicans; not democrats.

The Southern Strategy? Oh right, you mean JFK's outrageous slap a people of color by choosing a segregationist as his running mate so he could win the votes of racists everywhere in the US, not just the South.

And even so, he only became president by cheating. Sorta like the current occupant of the White House.
