........okay so we weren't really but let's do. Let's talk about impeaching the 5 conservative SC justices who allowed a blatantly unconstitutional abortion restriction law in TX to stand. After all, it is unequivocally in violation of Roe whether those justices hide behind the ambiguous, purposely deceitful construct of the law or not. I thought they took an oath to uphold the Constitution which includes not turning their heads when ruling on cases of settled law for 50 years.

It seems they are chomping at the bit to undo Roe. And they'll have their chance when the MS law comes before them during this session. Making their decision to let the TX law stand all the more egregious.

I believe that DeSantis and Abbott are chomping at the bit to get Trump supporters behind them for a POTUS run. Trump openly stated that "there should be some kind of punishment" (for women that have abortions).

Therefore, any kind of impeachment is probably going to go the way it did for his two - Republicans cemented to objection for no other reason than being ostriches and blind followers.

The deviously clever way the TX law was written not only does not allow for a government entity to be sued (typically the person in government enforcing the law becomes the defendant) thereby making counter suits more difficult, it conspicuously avoids going after the woman having the abortion and instead targets the service providers. Cuz Repubs know the majority of Americans want to keep Roe in place.

You are way off base on two counts. First, SCOTUS did not rule on the constitutionality of the Texas law. That law is still being challenged in the courts; SCOTUS simply did not support an injunction. Second, a justice can only be impeached for bad behavior. You cannot impeach a justice because you don't like his rulings. On the other hand, since the Democrats set the new requirements for impeachment of other than justices to "we don't like the guy" there is ample cause to impeach Biden, Harris, many cabinet officers.

They don't want to wear masks, socially distance, minimize gathers or get vaccinated but want to tell other people what they can do with their own body. I wonder how many people would appreciate someone telling them what they need to do with their time and money for at least 18 years.

Even more bizarre, I'm positive that non-Republicans aren't the ONLY people having abortions.

Further, people aren't racing to adopt or foster unwanted children and generally turn a blind eye on abused, neglected and exploited children so they only seem to care about life while in the womb. Nice cherry picking.

It is always disgusting to one when a court rules against one's desires.

You need to understand that Democrats impeach people or cancel them simply because they don’t like them. They don’t have to do anything impeachable, break the law, just hurt their feewings. Get with the program:)

Both the Senate and House Judiciary Committees have announced that they will hold hearings into the Supreme Court’s use of the shadow docket shortly after the Court virtually outlawed abortion in Texas through the expedited forum.

“This anti-choice law is a devastating blow to Americans’ constitutional rights—and the Court allowed it to see the light of day without public deliberation or transparency,” Senate Judiciary Chairman Dick Dubin (D-IL) said in a statement. “At a time when public confidence in government institutions has greatly eroded, we must examine not just the constitutional impact of allowing the Texas law to take effect, but also the conservative Court’s abuse of the shadow docket.”

If nothing else the conservatives on the court have given more ammo to those who argue for expanding the number of justices.

The Supreme Court’s decision, in the wee hours of Thursday morning, declining to enjoin a Texas law that bans abortions after about the sixth week of pregnancy, immediately prompted the reaction that “Roe v. Wade is dead” and “Roe v. Wade got overturned.” But Roe v. Wade wasn’t expressly overturned. The landmark 1973 ruling was, as former secretary of state Hillary Clinton tweeted, “gutted.” The insult to the injury of the court’s decision is that a 5-to-4 majority didn’t countermand the court’s own holding in Roe. Instead, in a cowardly unsigned opinion, members of the majority — over the signed dissents of Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. and the court’s three liberal justices — declined to carry out their central and sacred functions: to protect constitutional rights and uphold the rule of law.

So, you want to impeach judges for ruling on cases? Talk about wanting to subvert democracy! How about impeaching the judges in the 9th circuit court of appeals, the most overturned court in the US?

No, for declining to carry out their central and sacred functions: to protect constitutional rights and uphold the rule of law. Talk about subverting democracy.

Didn't they say they weren't going to increase the number of justices? I thought I read something like that on this forum. It sounds like it gets wishy-washy dependent on which letter in the Oval Office.

But not as disgusting as cowering to the lefty antifa crowd when it came to election integrity. They were more afraid of the nuts burning down their houses than having a Presidential election free from fraud.

Biden wants to increase the number of SC justices and nuke Americans, apparently. Not exactly the behavior a competent President would exhibit, but then again, Biden wasn't elected for competence.

How refreshing to see the sudden interest in the constitution. I certainly agree with you that a woman's right to bodily autonomy should never be infringed on.

What happens when that woman wants to protect that right from a rapist/killer using her second amendment rights? Is the constitution still important?

What else is there to say about Afghanistan?

Have you considered buying a tv or radio station and providing the "news" you think everyone should hear?

Afghanistan? Wow... you actually asked that question. That tells me you have no clue what's going on there right now. The MSM sure does do a number on the Left. They are so effective it's kind of scary.

The leftist media targets the easily persuaded and then the left claims that they are "independent thinkers", lol. Yeah, right.

MSNBC coins a leftist talking point (like "The Big Lie") and all the leftists on the board will parrot it for years without any critical thinking.

Judges are put in place to judge. Not everyone agrees with their decisions. But, as I said, since the 9th circuit court of appeals is the most overturned court in the US, it's reasonable to assume those judges aren't very good at doing their job and should be impeached.
