    Just saw your thread.

There's a lot going on in sports - the NCAA Tournament and the World Cup Qualifiers in football/soccer.

If you're an American soccer fan you have a lot to be happy about - we pretty much qualified for the WC on Sunday and we've got a fine young squad. The future looks bright...

Said the "sports fan" who hasn't seen USMNT fans fill up stadiums during the WCQs.

You think soccer is real popular in the US?

Is it as popular as football, basketball and baseball? Of course not, but it does have a strong and growing following in the US, which is why the USMNT has been filling up the venues they've been playing in. It's also the reason why the World Cup will be coming here in 2026:

Between the WC and the success of the best young Men's squad the US has ever put on the field - which should be in peak form by 2026 - I think the sport may gain more popularity than it ever has in the past. Up to this point the futility of the USMNT has given Americans little to cheer and support, but hopefully that will change.

Speaking of which, the USMNT can clinch its first berth in the World Cup since 2014 tonight in San Jose, Costa Rica. Hopefully they'll finish qualifying on a strong note but they'll be playing a good (and desperate) Costa Rican team:

Game starts at 9:05pm ET and reportedly will be televised live on CBS Sports Network and NBC Universo.
