Just saw your thread. There's a lot going on in sports - the NCAA Tournament and the World Cup Qualifiers in football/soccer. If you're an American soccer fan you have a lot to be happy about - we pretty much qualified for the WC on Sunday and we've got a fine young squad. The future looks bright...
Is it as popular as football, basketball and baseball? Of course not, but it does have a strong and growing following in the US, which is why the USMNT has been filling up the venues they've been playing in. Up to this point the futility of the USMNT has given Americans little to cheer and support, but hopefully that will change. Speaking of which, the USMNT can clinch its first berth in the World Cup since 2014 tonight in San Jose, Costa Rica.
