Every country slants the news, the way they wish, over time. It is no surprise that the feeling's about Stalin have changed. Those who had too live under him, and seen his brutality, are dying off . The younger generations only know of him from what they read or are told from the state. Some still have family that give them the truth. Somehow or other Socialism and Communism have been romanticized as Utopianism. The failure, cruelty and genocide gets overlooked.

What is it about Muscovites that they idolize their butchers? It seems the more they were abused the more they enjoyed, strange peoples these russkis.

"By the order of the prosecutor general Vyshinsky, any methods were considered “good” to get the confession. NKVD staff used brutal tortures with pump, soldering iron, bottle (shoved into vagina and anus), rats (placed in the heated bucket under victim’s bare buttocks) etc."

Stalin was a powerful leader of the USSR, not like Brezhnev or Khruschev. I consider him a best leader in 20th century. If not the WW2 the country was very rich. Otherwise, all the budget after the war went to rebuild the infrastructire, factories, houses etc etc.
And this is lie, that majority of Soviet people were hungry on daily basis until 1960. There were certainly difficult periods, but that was not on daily basis. And this is stupid to compare the country that launched the first sputnik and sent the first person into space with African countries.

So you sent first person into space?? We landed on the moon, it's not who gets out of the gates quick, it's who crosses the finish line.

Bear to mind you that US did not have war on its territories and did not have to rebuilt everything. Another thing is that first person who went out to open space was also from Soviet Union.

For Russia, it was luck that Catherine the Great was in power at that time. She really cared about the state interests. The fact that she was not liked in other countries means that she did right things for Russian Empire.

Have you ever been in Russia in Siberia or somewhere in Chelyabinsk, or Nizhnii Novgorod? You have no idea what you are talking about. First travel and see, then comment.
