Mueller has spoken in his own silent way. Now will a leading democrat, or a liberal journalist, or a liberal TV host, or a PF liberal stand up for justice and announce they accept the fact that President Trump did not collude with the Russians to gain the White House? Those mentioned above now have a chance to show their statesmanship. Show the world you have more intelligence than emotions. I can only hope one will stand up for our president. Come on and be a profile in courage.
From the beginning, my b.s. meter lit up to the extent that I really couldn't dedicate much bandwidth to the whole ordeal. It's been an integral part of the left news cycle forever, nonstop posting from left leaning members here... how many will start to question motives, let alone acknowledge something is fishy?
While that would certainly be a pleasant surprise, I don't think there is a snoball's chance in hell of seeing it. I think the only acceptable conclusion is the one they had in their heads before the investigation was even thought of, and it revolves around personal emotional resentment and hate. That's not going away until these people mature mentally, and I don't see a snowball's chance of that happening either. Such people rarely develop backbones or courage enough to be honest about themselves.
Or did Mueller say there would be no more indictments because even though trump did plenty of colluding he can't be indicted as he is the setting president. Further, in your chest pounding you're failing to take into consideration the action that will be taken by the prosecutor in the SDNY. Trump still has to evade such obstacles as money laundering, tax evasion, insurance fraud plus others. You might have won round one but it's far from being over. You might just stop flapping your lips and cross your fingers instead.
No, because they will say that they couched their hate speech with the word "if" he was found even if they went on to sound that he did collude. They won't even say that they are pleased that the president of our country did not conspire to win an election. Hell they don't even admit it was borne out of Hillary working with Russians to begin with. I like the Democrats platform in the past more than the republicans, But the democratic party now seems to be a bunch of gangsters, even if their message of a social safety net still resonates with me. The DCCC just produced a memo saying that if any political group works with insurgent democrats in a democratic primary to unseat a DINO they will be barred from any future work with the party. The repubs did not do this to the tea party guys who ran against incumbents.
As if you would have accepted the Mueller report if it had found Trump guilty of collusion. You would have screamed about the deep state and Mueller trying to steal the election from Trump voters with the help of the Dems. All of a sudden, however, you think Mueller is a non-political guy, standing up for justice. Careful there, the report may contain things you don't like, so you may have to change your stance on Mueller again. Me, I will accept the Mueller report, whatever is in it. In the process, we already learned the type of anti-ethical scumbag Trump is (actually, most of us knew all along, even before he became president), and voters will remember that in the 2020 election.
Much to the dismay of Trumpers, I think the majority of we progressives on the board, left leaning media, and Dems will continue to say what we have always said. Let's wait for the findings to come out before reaching conclusions. If Mueller's report shows there is not enough evidence to prove collusion/conspiracy beyond a reasonable doubt then we'll accept his findings. I know I will. As for the subjects of showing statesmanship and snowball's chances in hell, what do you suppose is the likelihood of Don, right wing media, and Trumpers on the board admitting the investigation was warranted given all the evidence of suspicious contacts with Russians and campaign members who lied about those contacts, was conducted with extreme professionalism, and that they recognize the harm to the country they inflicted by endlessly characterizing the investigation as a witch hunt conducted by members of the fictitious deep state? One more thing. No matter what Mueller's report reveals it doesn't change the fact that Don is clearly unfit to be prez for reasons too numerous to mention. Many of us have highlighted those reasons over the past months as well as posting about what the investigations have discovered along the way. If this is the time for honesty, I wonder how many Repubs would admit they'd be apoplectic to discover Hillary's daughter took a meeting during the campaign with a Russian operative offering compromising material on Don that was in the possession of the Russian government after obtaining it illegally. A meeting also attended by her son-in-law and campaign manager. A meeting that was subsequently lied about by Hillary in a press release she directed in order to hide the true nature of the meeting. Admit to that and we can discuss "develop(ing) backbones or courage enough to be honest about themselves."
Drowning Trumpets will take a pingpong ball for a life saver if it "proves some point." That's exactly what the "no more indictments" is, a pingpong ball. On its face, it mens nothing other than Mueller has concluded his report. NOBODY knows what's in that report. Maybe we will today. Right Wing scum rakers have attempted to vilify Mueller for months with a singular result - they revealed themselves to be desperate to protect Trump at any cost - including breaking the law. They have turned the Republican Party into the Party of Trump and into a sewer.
This discussion reminds me that there was a similar investigation that conservatives need to accept the facts about, but that aside, if the facts show no evidence of collusion I think it is fair to accept that and move on to other matters.
Exactly. Sad reality is that most folks will believe what they wish to be true and won't allow fact or lack of to get in the way. Not to say that the report will even contain much in the way of facts. It likely will contain mostly hearsay and conjecture which as Mueller has rightfully determined is not enough to bring further charges. The media (social, main stream and alt) have greatly enriched this sentiment by continued speculation, conjecture and often mis-reporting if not outright lies. Main stream in particular have become very good at using The Hidden Persuaders (Vance Packard) to manipulate the public. Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative, none of us are going to be very happy with where this all may be headed.
I would have accepted the report whichever way it went. may not have like it but.... NOW it is time to MOVE ON....
I'm afraid we've been a big disappointment to the OP. Meanwhile, I await Trumpers taking their own advice and acknowledge the results of the many exhaustive investigations in to matters involving Hillary from Whitewater to the present day.
No doubt, you folks never let the truth get in the way of mouth foaming rabid liberalism. Thanks for the warning. You convicted Trump of something the day he beat Hillary, the rest has just been endless whining...
