I'm a big DS9 and Voyager fan Sisko and Janeway are plain bad ass especially for start trek captain's.

Of course Wrath of Kahn is the best if we're talking movies but 4 & 6 are really good to. 3 is better than 5 and anything is better than 1 lol.

    Just saw this

I know it's not going to be made into a full length feature any more because Paramount are embarrassed that the fan fictions are superior to the recycled crap they're producing.

But if you like Star Trek well worth a watch.

Am fond of DS9 and Voyager the most; This year, I actually watched TNG for the first time ever (bar 1 episode and the Star Trek movies the TGN cast made), and yeah I liked it. Last year I got into a followed Enterprise.
From start to finish to that episode set in Pennsylvania.

For me DS9 is the best then Voyager and TNG 3rd. TNG does have one of the best episodes (Well 2 parter)

But generally it was a bit too "progressive" for me lol. In DS9 people drank, used the holosuits for what we know everyone would use the holosuites for lol. In voyager Janeway started out progressive and then after the 4th season with the Borg she turned plain bad ass.

Janeway certainly has a bigger set of balls than Picard lol.

Piccard was not facing the dangers encountered by Voyager, Janeway & crew and certainly not in as many perilous encounters.

Well he was not all that French, the character of his brother certainly was French.
Saying French people are not of valour is not really a true statement.

Of course it isn't, I truly understand the bravery of the French at Dunkirk and how they helped UK escape.

But as a Brit it's traditional to take the piss out the French.

I loved Star Trek when I was a young boy. Kirk, Spock, Scotty and the doctor (forgot his name) where true heros in my sight.
But as I grew older, SF series lost their appeal to me ...

Grew up watching TOS. Imagine an episode like Elaan of Troyius being produced today.

TNG had its moments, but Picard was a little too feminzed.

    Star Trek Enterprise.
Great series and the last effort to maintain the
    Star Trek story line.

The new story line with the destruction of the Romulen home world
    and Vulcan is absurd.
Y'gotta be pretty hard up for a story line to destroy others' home worlds.
    What would Gene say?

Star Trek had its time. Rest in peace, Captain Kirk and Picard. Don't let them make Zombies out of you!

I love the star trek universe but I can still remember one second generation story that almost cause me to throw my shoe at the TV set.

Cloud creature introduce in the first star trek series as a killer of all human life on planets was brought back in season one of SG.

A woman scientist who lost her son to this creature found a means to destroyed it but even those it had a history of wiping out whole human colonies the Enterprise task was to open communication with it and see if some peaceful means of living with it could be found.

The woman scientist behind the backs of the Enterprise crew apply the mean to destroy it while pretending to be trying to communicate with it.

The position of the writers of this story was that she did a very bad thing indeed and it was a career ending deed for her.

My reaction was what the hell was the SG trying to sell that something that had the charming habit of wiping human colonies out should not be destroy?

Kirk would had have no problem with ending it existence but the writers had Picard acting as if someone had kill his pet cat.

Thanks god it never got that far off the rails again but I almost stop watching it due to that episode.

Kirk stands for the old American spirit like General Eisenhower or Chesty Puller: relentless and always victorious.
Picard should mostly be a modern type of a military leader.

Except Captain Piccard did not see himself as "Military" because that was not his objective as part of Starfleet, his objective was more of an Ambassador, than a Military Officer, his Rank of Captain was in relation to command as any ship has a Captain in command.

Refer to the mission statement of Star trek, the objective was exploration, new civilisations etc....
The Klingons and Romulans were Military.

While this episode is not generally considered among the initial series best, it is my all time fave.

Series creator Roddenberry hated racism, war, and violence. The first series presented episodes which dealt with these issues which was not considered politically correct in those days. This is why the powers that be wanted to be rid of Star Trek. But the shows live on.
