And now she's being bullied by the cop unions. A Florida state trooper pulls over a cop for driving reckless at over 120 mph and now she's being persecuted by the police unions for upholding the "law." http://www.autoevolution.com/news/florida-trooper-arrests-miami-police-officer-video-40047.html The police live in anarchy while the citizenry have to live within absurd laws.
The guy was obviously abusing what he might have seen as a privilege of his position. Off duty police can't speed with complete immunity. More often than not, I think other officers look the other way, but this case was excessive. I don't see anything wrong with the way it was handled.
It's ridiculous! The cop (speeder), should have been fired immediately, and charged with reckless endangerment. Screw him and his lame-ass "I'm late for an off duty job" excuse!!
wow was this feminist wantabee state trooper emotional wiith that pull over. first of all she over reacted by pulling out here gun a dominite female thing it was just a speeder not a full out persuit, then hancuff him while he was in uniform like he was some punk on the streets , the cop could not never explain the situation with out her cuffing and yelling at him as if he was her husband, i been in law enforcement for 15 years as a security officer in las vegas casinos and i never would treat a suspect alone a fellow officer like this ,she should be investaged for her abusive behavior m
The same would happen to a civilian, it's happened to me, why should a cop that's breaking the law be treated any different? The cop should be treated more harshly due to the supposed fact that he is versed in the law.
Clearly she suspected the cruiser was stolen. She drew her weapon while approaching the car before seeing the offending officer, at which time she holstered it. I'm sure her reaction (loud voice), was a natural reaction caused by the surprise/shock she felt when she realized that the idiot endangering lives on the highway, was a police officer. I think she should get a promotion for her actions. And he (the dumbass cop), should spend a little time in jail for his recklessness.
I'm siding with the female cop on this one. He was obviously abusing his "position" and was speeding like that cause he was late somewhere (not responding to police business). Good on her for doing her job, and it took some big brass balls to arrest one of your own.
no if it was a female pregnet in the drivers seat and a kid as a passinger seat she would of walked up and said are you all ok? are you having a bad day? are you going to the hospital ? see it was a male in a uniform and she didnt want to here the story, there was a story why he was speeding but will never here that because she was YELLING her fat mouth off the whole time there was no interview only her mouth side of the video and she seen the opportunity to push her alpha feminist like female wantabee state trooper on this white male police officer .
I agree with both sides, and I disagree with both sides. The State Trooper was in the right for pulling over someone who was speeding at 120mph. With that said, I disagree with her arresting him like that. What she should have done was immediately forwards her report to the officer CO, Chief of Police, and HR Dept. He really shouldnt be fired or anything like that. In the grand scheme of things, 120mph speeding is really not that bad. What should happen to the officer is a letter of reprimand in his jacket.
she was way to emotional with her reactions ,first ifit was this bad to pull you service weapon out you wait for backup, then you approach the car. shewants to be a bad ass feminist trooper so bad i see, shes making all the mistakes like she right out of the acadamy
I agree somewhat with what you are saying. I can understand how it looked to civilians and them wondering "WTF". She SHOULD of been calmer. I don't agree that he should be fired, but I do agree with her arresting him. Maybe she should of gone about it differently, and not acting all nutty and panicky, and should of kept her composure. Hindsight is 20/20.
http://www.wtsp.com/news/article/218682/19/Miami-cops-challenge-trooper39s-arrest-of-officer Speeding in and out of traffic at 120 mph for an OFF DUTY job. Would that be okay for me to do? " "Sorry officer, I was going 120 mph cause I'm late for work." "Oh, okay, go ahead then" NOT I'm pretty sure I said this...
For the people who think the female cop overreacted, look at other instances of high speed chases...... They usually end, after the stop, in treating the speeder pretty roughly, yelling orders, and sometimes tackling them to get them cuffed....and they usually involve backup/support. The guy was going 120....and he didn't pull over immediately. Even though this was a cop in a cop car.....it could have potentially involved a number of other more serious scenarios.
Don't know about your location but I unfortunately see people with sirens abusing them way too often. Don't want to wait at a light? Turn the siren on and go down the street for a few blocks then turn it off. The worst abusers are ambulance/EMT crews.
Do you know why they do that? Because they get called for something then they are cancelled and put back in to service. As far as being at a light, every state as on their books that ambulance and fire crews have to be able to get to a call right away. That means they have to be first out of the intersection. On top of state regs, it is DOT policy. How do you I know this you ask? Because I am an EMT
LOL I didn't mean it as a swipe at you. Rather, pointing to the fact it should have been easy to figure out (for the other person).
It's funny because I'd like to say I'm surprised to see that people oppose equal enforcement of the law, but I'm actually not.
