KBJ (Let's all get that going now... it's as long as ACB) got 3 R votes just last summer (Lil Lindsey, Collins, and Lisa M). Hard to believe she's done anything on the appeals court in that time that would change that....

    Ooops

The only Black Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas was nominated by Republican President George H W Bush. Where in the Hell have the Democratic Presidents been all this time. Damn Racist Liberals.

But, take some comfort in the great likelihood that Joe's pick will be a BLACK, FEMALE attorney... after all, when you get right down to it, little else matters to those in the 'woke', liberal-Leftist faction than the Holy Grail of 'inclusiveness' and 'diversity', based on race and gender... even though that's kind of a 'my-ass-in-your-face' that Joe is communicating to ALL OTHER American citizens....

Racism 2: the systemic oppression of a racial group to the social, economic, and political advantage of another"

It is against the law for our schools and businesses to use race when hiring but Biden has always been...

No, at the rate we're going, we won't last 50 more years, in any form. The Russians and Chinese are already well into the process of eliminating our power and prestige throughout the entire Eastern Hemisphere right now, and both countries have already made inroads in South America as well. On top of that, what we Americans are doing is actually committing a very real form of political and economic SUICIDE. It's bad enough when you've got a Sino-Russian economic/military alliance opposing you everywhere, but if on top of that you've got half the U. S. hating the other half's guts, it does not 'bode well'....

If Geriatric Joe installs a Black female on the SCOTUS, then it will be 22.222% BLACK! But, America is only, at most, ~14% Black! How is that an accurate representation of what "America looks like"...? :confusion:

Hint: if we're going to run all this Democrat-inspired 'inclusiveness' and 'diversity' thing BY THE NUMBERS, then shouldn't the math itself result in accurate proportionality...? :lonely:

Unless they were qualified, then they couldn't be chosen. I'm sure that Asians may feel the same way, since they represent about 7% of the US population.

Unfortunately, you are still not addressing the specific idea that Biden's statement limited the pool BASED on physical characteristics. While it would be great to have further mix of Justices, the only thing that should define them is their thinking, not their genitalia or melatonin, and requiring it based on 'quotas' is discriminatory.

Part one of your statement, I agree with, but the worry of "22.22%" is hyperbole.

As to representation on TV? Who actually cares who is trying to sell you a new car, refrigerator or the latest gadget? I can ignore sales people of all races, skin tones and assumed genders. What the increase does signify is that the manufacturers are madly trying to make up for their previous neglect, yet I haven't heard calls to boycott from anyone I know.

I've been following this argument in this thread, and I just can't see how arguing against Democrat racial quotas is useful. Of COURSE Democrats have racial quotas! That's key to keeping their coalition together. It's not exactly a new thing. That's how we got Harris as VP; they looked at her demographics and nothing else. The rest (heh heh) is history.

But I think for the Supreme Court, it won't matter . No matter what sex or color Biden nominates, they are going to vote the same way. It will be so predictable that I'll be able to call their vote before each major court decision. And so will you.

While I tend to agree that it's chaff on the wind, I continue to hope that something will send a flicker of thought about what they are truly supporting, and why.

Biden's pandering is blatant, I'll give him that. And to be honest, that isn't a compliment.

Because someone, who's own best friends refuted the absolute entirety of Bawybae Tawlk's baseless evidenceless claim, coordinated with Senate Democrats and personally profited from the hoax said so? The very fact you're still holding on to this conspiracy contradicts what you said earlier about 'no one grinding teeth over Trump's picks'. Also, it doesn't address these facts:

It is illegal to exclude people from a position based on race or gender.
It is illegal to apply justice unequally along racial or gender lines.

By professing to only consider black women for the position Brandon breaks the first law, by defending the choice by saying we need to have a 'black perspective' on the bench he announces the intent of that Justice to break the second.

    Ever read the Constitution?

Why do you support discrimination when it comes to race, gender and religious affiliation?

How many years will it be before African-Americans catch up? From 1789 till 1967 the SC was all White.:confusion:
I know. Let's have an all African-American SC for the next 50 years. :clapping:

@Pollycy, if you really want to be fair about it, we should re-distribute the money to make sure African-Americans have 13% of America's wealth.
Right now, I hear we only have about 1% of America's wealth.

When they produce 13% of the goods and services, then you have a deal. Good luck with that. There is more to existence than taking other peoples money. My policy is if you want more money, work more hours, increase your skills or implement a great idea. There is no happiness, dignity or sense of self worth in an existence predicated on envy of others and a wish to take it with force.

POC are over-represented in sports, too.
And sadly, in the criminal justice system/prisons. (Due to bias).

Oh, c'mon Moriah... you get what are WORTH and what you EARN in a free-market economy. Or, are one of these people who think anyone should just be GIVEN things, based purely on race?!

If you believe racist drivel like that, you're definitely one of Geriatric Joe's "chosen people" in the Libocrat Party! Aren't you better than to advocate something like that?

@apexofpurple, you can talk until you're blue in the face about what is "legal or illegal" as far as race is concerned. We both know there is still discrimination in employment and job promotions. It's usually hard to prove, so the people who do it, get away with it.
African-Americans are passed over in favor of Whites for jobs all the time.
Sometimes, they might not like your name, if it sounds too "ethnic".
So, let's drop this "illegal" mess. Thank you.
P.S. Be happy for the African-American female SC picks. :)

I was just following your premise of sharing everything by 13% of population.

Truth? Many managers who do the hiring and firing for their own teams in large corporations -- especially those that have contracts with the government-- are FREQUENTLY 'under the gun' to hire minorities! I SWEAR it's true. Because until my retirement, I was just such a manager.

BTW, my female team members were frequently the best! They gave me uniformly superior performance overall and considerably fewer problems than several of my male team members.

This was true of all races under my supervision, and yes, I did have Blacks on my team....
